XBOX ONE - Stopped Playing DVD Movies

Out of nowhere my XBOX One has stopped playing any DVD movies (I have the most current player and Blu-Ray's all play fine).

XBOX 360 games play fine.

The chat rep @ MS said I needed to get a new XBOX One. I am at a loss as my games and Blu-Ray all work.

My daughter has played her whole movie collection with no issues for the last 2 years and starting sometime in early August now just an error message. I am at work now and can't find the error message of course. And I love not being able to call up a ticket
when you file it with Microsoft.

Anyone have any ideas? They had me wipe my XBOX and reset to factory (saving data of course)... and nothing has worked.

Yes, Xbox One can play both Blu-ray and DVD movies. No HD DVD

I would check out the Xbox page for Blu-ray playback regarding regions. But yes, your Xbox One can certainly play DVD and Blu-ray movies.

if I own a DVD movie that's in AVI format can the Xbox One console easily play that particular DVD movie???

This only happens when i play dvd with this particular cable. thats the strange part of it. when i play dvd = scrape, games = perfect, movies from usb flash = perfect. only from dvd. is it the xbox's codecs or something that stopping it from play sound from
dvd?

No region 4 DVD can't be played in EU devices
