    xbox one stop recognizing game discs


    system is relatively new, just purchased in January. the system completely stop recognizing game discs. any ways to solve this?

    Xbox one console not reading discs

    So I picked up a console for 10 bucks it was missing some pieces so I replace what it needed and booted it up. It would not read discs, I dont see a spinning gear or anything showing that it recognizes that there is a disc in it. So I bought a new laser and tray and replaced it. Same thing, it will spin for about 3 seconds and stop. Xbox never recognizes the disc. I reset the xbox, tried it, updated it, tried it.. nothing.

    I recommended that you hard reset ur Xbox one to factory setting maybe then it will read the disc if not then it could be and internal damage and Xbox HQ would have to fix.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console.

    If your having an issue with all of your discs, check if they work on another Xbox, if they do, it could be your Xbox disc reader has failed, and needs a warranty service.

    No you cannot. The xbox one will not recognize 360 games discs or downloads

    Hi there Shantj,

    Thanks for the reply. In reference to the issue at hand, this is the only disc being affected.

    • Have you tried uninstalling the game from the Xbox One? If so, after power cycling the console, then inserting the disc does it recognize it in the system?
    • Have you attempted to use this disc on another console to help test the disc?
