XBOX ONE sticky button issue?

My son's Xbox One recently began acting rather strange. Most anytime he is using the system it acts like he is constantly pressing the button trying to select something so if he's trying to watch a movie or Netflix or something like that, it constantly pauses
it on him. If he's playing a game or something it just keeps selecting random things. We tried one of my other son's controllers on it thinking it was a controller issue and his did the same thing but works like it should on his Xbox. Anyone else ever had
a similar issue?

Sticky Buttons

I have noticed my buttons on my controller are becoming sticky. ie when i press X i can feel it getting stuck down a little bit.

Is there anyuthing i can do to clean them without breaking my controller or voiding the warrenty?

Try performing a hard reset on the console EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and
restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test the results.

Mine definitely were not sticky when I got one. I'd contact support about a replacement if it hasn't gotten better: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us

This may sound a little too much , but wash your hands before you are going to play on your xbox. I do that all the time and my controller still feels the same as when i took it out of the package.

my controller had sticky buttons and also the joystick was not working properly. the way I fixed it was to take it apart with a

T-8H screwdriver. the get the the screws on the bottom was to take a flat head screwdriver and knock out the pin. also make sure you get the T-8H and not the T-8.the H has a hole in it to fit the pin

I think the best thing Ive come to find, is keeping your hands clean the best you can, and on occasion I use the AirCans, to just blow air over the controller. This can then help you to keep it clean. Even taking a soft pad or something can help.
