    Xbox One stereo headset not working


    I am currently having a problem with my xbox one stereo headset in which I am unable to talk to other players. I am able to hear other players and game audio perfectly fine. My NAT type is open. I do not have another controller to test my microphone on.
    I have had this problem twice before with the default xbox one headsets. If you guys know any solution I would greatly appreciate it.

    What's a good yet not horribly expensive headset for the Xbox?

    The default stereo headset is pretty good IMO.

    Comfortable, cheap, decently built. It's stereo but it should work with windows sonic as well which helps with audio quality.

    I'm having the same problem as you, can I ask something? can you check if when you unplug your mic from the adapter (assuming you have one) you can still click on the mute mic button? for some reason when I unplug it my xbox thinks it is still plugged and
    doesn't display the usual "we couldn't find a microphone for this person"

    When I unplug my mic from the adapter, I am unable to press the mute button and I get the message "we couldn't find a microphone for this person."

    Yeah, Just checked right now and I got the "we couldn't find a mic thing", weird because it wasn't like that yesterday, I'm pretty sure that whatever problems they had yesterday with the xbox social thing had something to do with this, then again if that
    was the case more people would have this problem

    Hi Zathrus,

    We have two of the
    Xbox Stereo Headset     with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
    adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.

    Recommendation needed for Xbox One X headphones

    I would recommend the official Xbox brand stereo headset as it claims to be compatible with all xbox one wireless controllers:

    It probably doesn't need the stereo headset adapter - but if you're going to buy this headset, better just buy the stereo headset adapter to get your other headsets, that you already own, to work properly
