  2. Enabling sound from a connected monitor with a headset

Hello, you would need to purchase a stereo headset designed designed for the Xbox One in order to get your game sound through your headset. Microsoft has their own variant

    www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset
but there are third party companies which sell certified for Xbox One (Just make sure it says it's available for use with Xbox One).

If you buy a third party headset you may also need to purchase the Xbox One chat adapter so you can connect your headset to your controller

Some companies include them in the box, some don't.

Either way if it comes in the box or not you need to wire your controller up to your Xbox One in order to download the firmware for the chat adapter to it

100% agree. Hopefully this is a firmware issue but when I use the stereo headset the mic sensitivity is way, way too low so I have to talk much louder than normal for it to pick up my voice. Very disappointed. Contacted MS about it and they said they'd replace
it but I'd have to send it in at my own expense first. Complete joke.

Replace it? How can I go about getting a refund. Is another headset actually going to fix this issue? I'm pretty upset. I can't talk to people with my son sleeping in the next room over because I literally have to yell or people to hear me. Also Crackling
noise when browsing the dashboard I though that it might have been because my volume was too high but even on low it does it. Can't begin to explain how disappointed I am right now.

Mine is too sensitive??? Purchased in March 2014. Stupid thing will pickup very slight noises to the point where I feel like I need to have it muted when I'm not talking.

Recommendation needed for Xbox One X headphones

I would recommend the official Xbox brand stereo headset as it claims to be compatible with all xbox one wireless controllers:

    https://www.xbox.com/xbox-one/accessories/headsets/stereo-headset

It probably doesn't need the stereo headset adapter - but if you're going to buy this headset, better just buy the stereo headset adapter to get your other headsets, that you already own, to work properly

Xbox One S and Official Stereo Headset Adapter not recognized

    Hi Zathrus,

    We have two of the
    Xbox Stereo Headset
with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.
