    Hi mr beep

    I tested the headset on my phone and the mic works. The only possibility what I can think of is that it is a software flaw. None of my other stereo headsets work now on the Xbox

    I'll start a new thread, but as you mentioned, the end result is the same...frustration.

    No headset mic works with my profile, but his Tritons work with his profile just fine.

    Moneyshot360 I'm having the exact same problem. I've rang customer support and was on the line for 1 hour to be told to go and buy a new headset, even though I've already tried a friends and still had no joy.. I'm not willing to go out and buy a new controller,
    headset and cable when I know they all worked fine until the update!

    Kinect works fine, and until I get an answer as to weather or not I need to buy a new mic and controller I'm not going to.

    Xbox One Stereo Headset Mic Stopped Working After Newest Update

    I have the error on top of my profile in party that says my privacy settings may prevent chat with some other people. I was banned recently but it was lifted days ago and whenever I try to message someone it gives me the error, but if I message someone on
    xbox.com it works perfectly. Something is wrong!! Please help.

  5. ++ Update 1 ++

    I had an almost 2 hour long chat with the Xbox support. I had to do everything again and again and again until the guy told me at the end that they know the problem but have no solution - 2 hours waste of time...

    ++ Update 2 ++

    I left the Preview Program and the Xbox did a reset down from version 10.0.14393.1050 to 10.0.14393.1045 but the mics still does not work, so leaving the preview program is not the solution...

    Hope we will get a solution before March 2017 when GR Wildlands will be released...

    Going to add my two cents in as this sounds very much the same as what I've been going through.

    To start with... I don't know how things were before the Cortana update or other recent updates, since I haven't had an Xbox for about a year and just bought a replacement last night. I got it home and configured my router so the nat type was open, ran all
    the updates and everything seemed great until my friend invited me into a party. I could hear him but he could not hear me.

    Initially I was using a pair of old Monster earbuds as a mic, since I bought a slim and the slim bundles don't include a headset. These earbuds worked fine on my phone and computer- I tested them- but when connected to my Xbox they did not pick up my voice.
    It showed that I did have a headset connected but the chat "ring" did not light up except when I stressed the buttons on the earbuds, then the clicking of the buttons went into the chat but not my voice.

    So I drove down to gamestop and bought a basic Xbox headset, the $20 Microsoft branded one. Same result. I can hear my friends in my ear but they can't hear me talk and the chat ring doesn't light up. Brand new headset/controller/xbox so it shouldn't be
    anything hardware related and my internet is all open, etc. I don't have anything to compare it with (i.e. past updates) and I'm not in the preview program, so I guess I have to wait for some kind of hotfix for this issue...? It's sad to finally get my one
    back and not be able to talk to my friends Xbox One Stereo Headset Mic Stopped Working After Newest Update :(

    Yeah, guys. It really sucks, because a lot of games now need you to be online, or to be on Xbox Live, but that sucks even more, because you're paying for Xbox Live, and you have to either play alone because you can't TALK TO ANYONE, or you have to listen
    to them talk one-sided, or not be included in the conversation with multiple friends. So, either, not be able to play Live games, or pay for it, and not be able to talk to anyone. Great.

    My "workaround" so far is to use my ipad w/skype set up next to my xbox, it works fine and I can still chat with my friends that way, so it could be worse, but still... not everyone has a separate device they can use for voice communication. Hoping for a
    fix to the firmware, etc soon.

    That's what I've been doing as well. It's pretty annoying, but it works. I'm chatting with support right now for the sixth time about this issue, and it's super fun answering the same questions over and over, because they can't set you up with the same person,
    or read the "case" they give for each person.

    I, too, am still having this issue. They've had me reset, remove accounts, re-do everything... nothing has worked. All the hardware is good because it works on my other, non-preview program, xbox one. Sigh.

    X Box One Controller is muted

    Our xbox one controllers stopped working with the stereo headset (just the mic) all simultaneously.

    We tried plugging it into the 3.5 mm jack. None of my 3 controllers worked after having worked fine for months. All updated to latest firmware.

    I tested the headset on my iphone and the mic was fine there- I could record voice memos with no problems

    went to GameStop and spent $50 for the stereo headset adapter, and that allowed the mic to work again for another 30 days.

    Now the mic is stuck on mute again, the headset adapter’s slashmark icon stays lit
