Xbox One Stereo Headset Mic Not Working for Party Chat

Sometimes this happens to me.I find if you sign in with the Kinect before turning your controller on it tends to happen. The Xbox has signed you in but doesn't quite pair you with the controller,so it doesn't let you talk in party
chat with a headset in the controller. All you have to do is go to the sign-in screen and select "choose this person" with your controller on yourself. You don't need to sign out.Now the Xbox should associate you as the one holding the controller.I think the
Kinect is supposed to figure that out itself but it's a little buggy.

  2. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE OUTRAGE!!! Microsoft im getting tired of this. There should be no trouble shooting what so ever had to be done. I paid 500 *** euro for my product and IM DISGUSTED , with the quality and the support. Its pointless contacting your support
team because they dont have the power to tell us the truth ie MICROSOFT IS THE PROBLEM. Whats worse is you wont even talk to us, i understand you cant talk to us here directly. But it woUld be nice for you to tell you're customers you understand there is an
issue. All of us are trying god knows what to fix a problem we cant, and more than likely doing more damage in the future. Im talking about the in box headset, that flat out does not work FOR EVERYONE!. Its out more than half a year and the problem has been
there since the start, and YES i got a first addition REGRETTABLY. I get update after update every week of new features and improvements to the xbox one or xbox live experience LMAO its an experience alright (experiencing problems). But how about instead of
all them updates yous are working on. TRY WORKING ON THE BIGGEST ISSUE YOUS HAVE. THE SO CALLED PLUG AND PLAY STANDARD HEADSET THAT COMES WITH THE CONSOLE. Dont get me wrong I LOVE xbox 360, its social style gaming made me a gamer. I cant socialize on me xbox

I used to have this problem all the time: the Kinect would "override" my headset when it was enabled and I couldn't use my headset at all. Disabling the Kinect via Settings has fixed the problem every time, which kind of sucks because I (apparently) paid
extra for the Kinect and now I have to turn it off to use a basic online feature.

  5. I just had a issue with the headset that comes with the xbox one. it was not working. i was in a party with my brother playing tomb raider. then my mic just cut out and did not work. Figured out how to fix it for now. I had to shut down the whole system
and then pull the power cord and then plug it back in and then start it all up again and then it started working again. Hope this helps for some ppl its a fix but not sure for how long.

  6. Bought the stereo headset

Out of box: Great headphones, ZERO microphone functionality.

Still nothing from a single *** at Microsoft.

You know Microsoft told me that Godaddy is the reason I have IMAP errors on 12 different pcs with their accounts. 20 mb limit or something. They refuse to admit its them. Godaddy has no mb limit.

This thread is just an example of what we are used to and what we expect from a company that only wanta to tale our money.

Xbox One Stereo Headset Mic Not Working for Party Chat

    Any joy lads?

    I bought the Xbox adapter.

    Applied the update.

I can hear game sounds. But I cannot hear my friends talk.

    They can hear me.

    Which makes it more annoying.

Can't hear anyone on my XB1 Stereo Headset

    Xbox One Stereo headset

The mic that came with the Xbox one works. My adapter chat button makes the game volume higher. Is it suppose to be like that?

We cant find a microphone for these people.

What do you use for chatting: Xbox One Chat Headset, Stereo Headset, or a 3rd party headset?

Headset Adapter and Beats Studio Headset

Same issue with iPhone headset. Audio works great, in party chat, others here high pitch whistle. While less than desirable, it may be that the adapter is not designed to work with inline mic's. Look at the last item in the list below. "Any 3.5mm stereo
headset (that uses the CTIA plug standard) can get stereo game audio by plugging into the adapter"

I hope that the headset can work.

    From XBOX.COM Headset Adapter page:

    For game audio:

    - Legacy gaming headsets get game audio from the back of the console from the S/PDIF port or from your TV/receiver with RCA cables. Get chat audio by connecting the 2.5mm chat cable to the adapter

    - New Xbox One headsets – get chat and stereo directly from the adapter. No need to connect anything to the console

    - Any 3.5mm stereo headset (that uses the CTIA plug standard) can get stereo game audio by plugging into the adapter

How to game with a headset?

    Hello GentylBear,

And congratulation on the new Xbox :) . If memory serves me correct, Xbox Ones are shipped with a small mono

    Chat Headset
that has an adapter attached to it and can only work with and be plugged into an Xbox One controller. However, the newer Xbox One

    Wireless Controllers
also have a 3.5mm jack and any compatible stereo headset with a microphone should work fine. We have two of the

    Xbox One Stereo Headset
and both work very well. In deed, they are probably the best stereo gaming headset you can get for the money (about $60US). Also, it comes with its own

    Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter
. Unlike the Chat Headset, the Xbox One
    Stereo Headset
has a 3.5mm jack and can be plugged directly into the controller. I've even used my Xbox stereo headset with my phone. However, the Xbox One

    Stereo Headset Adapter
has buttons for game/chat balance, volume and the all important mute. So, I recommend using the stereo headset with its adapter. If you do that, there really isn't any setup. Just plug it in and start playing. But, if you do plug
a headset directly into the controller via 3.5mm jack, the Xbox will automatically makes Headset volume, Headset chat volume and Mic monitoring settings available right at the > Settings menu directly off the Home page/menu (kind of cool isn't it). Make sure
the Headset mic is set to On.

    Good luck and good gaming,

    SA

Enabling sound from a connected monitor with a headset

Hello, you would need to purchase a stereo headset designed designed for the Xbox One in order to get your game sound through your headset. Microsoft has their own variant

    www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset
but there are third party companies which sell certified for Xbox One (Just make sure it says it's available for use with Xbox One).

    Third party XBox One headsets
    www.xbox.com/.../third-party

If you buy a third party headset you may also need to purchase the Xbox One chat adapter so you can connect your headset to your controller

    www.xbox.com/xbox-one/accessories/headsets/stereo-headset-adapter

Some companies include them in the box, some don't.

Either way if it comes in the box or not you need to wire your controller up to your Xbox One in order to download the firmware for the chat adapter to it
