Xbox One Stereo Headset Mic Not Working for Party Chat

Similar to the issue I saw reported with the Astro A40's connected to the Stereo Headset Adapter my mic does not seem to be working for Party Chat.

I have tried turning the console off and on as well as the controller. I have unplugged the adapter multiple times from the controller and the same for the headset connection to the adapter.

I entered a game of Titanfall outside of a party and the mic seems to be working fine.

Hello, you would need to purchase a stereo headset designed designed for the Xbox One in order to get your game sound through your headset. Microsoft has their own variant

www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset but there are third party companies which sell certified for Xbox One (Just make sure it says it's available for use with Xbox One).

If you buy a third party headset you may also need to purchase the Xbox One chat adapter so you can connect your headset to your controller

Some companies include them in the box, some don't.

Either way if it comes in the box or not you need to wire your controller up to your Xbox One in order to download the firmware for the chat adapter to it

I was part of the Xbox One Update Preview Program in case that might have affected this.

 

I was also part of the Preview program and I'm having issues with my Polk 4Shot and the adapter. Hopefully it's a quickfix that Msoft is working on.

 

I can't chat in party or game with oem chat headset and i recently purchased the headset adapter and the official xbox stereo headset, same problem. I can hear people in party and game chat, yet they can't hear me.

My controller is updated.

I first had this issue during the titanfall beta...in a match, everything's good, i can hear friends and they can hear me, out of the blue they can't hear me anymore. Hasn't worked since.

I've tried everything, no effect. My new controller arrives today. maybe it's a controller issue. I'll let everyone know.

I was preview program as well.

 

Same thing with me my audio for my xp500 works just fine. The buttons still work on my stereo headset adapter but my chat just miraculously stopped a few days after I bought it now no one can hear me through regular chat or party plus I have two controllers
updated. I've done everything to try and fix it. Including he cold reboot, redoing the controller update,and unplugging everything. Still nothing, this truly sucks.

 

I've had this issue with both the in the box headset that came with the xbox one as well as the atlas headset I just bought. it's like the mic randomly decides whether or not it's going to work. usually it chooses not to, it seems.

 

I've had this issue once. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in. Worked fine after that.

 

UPDATE: Last night I got on and it seems the microphone is not working on the Xbox One Stereo Headset at all. A Skype test call didn't even repeat back what I spoke into it when it had successfully done so the date before. This is very frustrating. It is
very strange that the mic isn't working at all with the Xbox One now.

@JackBauer201: I wish that worked for me. I tried that several times since the mic didn't want to work at all for me last night. I even tried to upgrade the controller again and it was, of course, already updated.

 

It seems like every time I turn on my xbox with power saver mode off (where it has to run the startup and all that jazz) the headset works. Maybe it's something with the software? with My atlas headset the game sound is always working, but I have to do what
I just described to get the mic to work. it's the same way with my out of the box headset.

 

its completely random when it works. I have contacted support multiple times. I did a full offline update, and it did not fix it either. guess we are all just held hostage right now, until a new firmware hits

 

yeah headset in the box doesnt wanna work now, and after two uses the adapter doesnt wanna broadcast voice on my x41s

 

I am having the same issue. Headset adapter with xp510s or regular chat headset.

 

The thing is that it comes and goes sometimes a reset works and other times it doesn't sometimes pulling the batteries out works and other times it doesn't. I'm not sure what it is but something is locking up and will not allow the microphone to work
