    Xbox One Stereo Headset - Mic doesn't pick me up


    Hey all,

    So I am not sure exactly when this started but the mic on the Xbox One Stereo Headset doesn't pick up my voice properly. It will sometimes pick up my voice if I talk very loud but still cuts out to the point of where people can't really understand me. If
    I yell very loudly it seems to work but that isn't viable.

    The weird thing is if I record a voiceover in Upload studio or make a Skype call the microphone works fine and that is with talking at a reasonable volume. It is just in any game or party chat where the mic fails.

    I have updated to the most recent controller firmware and have performed many hard reboots.

    Any ideas?

    quick headset ?

    i have the microsoft xbox one stereo headset and ive noticed that when really loud noises happen during a game my chat icon appears on screen.

    so im guessing my mic is picking up the sound, does that mean my headset is to loud? or is there a setting to lower like the chat mixer or mic monitoring?

    My mic doesn't appear to be working on my Xbox One Stereo headset. Interesting are you by chance in the Xbox One preview program buckeye?

    I took the stereo headset back for this exact reason. I talk pretty loudly and it was struggling to pick me up a lot of the time. I got the X04's and the mic is crazy sensitive. It will pick you up if you are whispering. Both headsets still have static/poping
    issues because of the adapter though. Ugh. Doesn't seem to be a perfect headset option out there right now.

    Sounds about right, my headset was working fine, then all of a sudden it appears to not want to allow me to chat. Using it in a phone, through other apps seems fine (Skype, etc.) Can i return the headset or is something up with the stereo adapter, or some
    weird setting i've clicked on.

    Hello Dark zombie,

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. The Xbox one doesn't support mics that do not connect via 3.5mm plugs. Did the headset come with any extra accessories or adapters? I was able to find a razer kraken headset online that comes with the adapter,
    but it may not be the exact same model you have.
