XBOX ONE Stereo Headset & Headset Adapter First Impressions Review

The XBOX ONE Stereo Headset is a great sounding headset, others may look the other way when they find out its not a Virtual 7.1 like the new Sony PULSE Gold Headset for the PS4 and is just Stereo sound, well I own both headsets and I have concluded the XBOX
ONE Stereo Headset Audio Quality is superior to the PS4 PULSE Gold Headset and it works great with my PS4 and any device that uses a 3.5mm audio jack.

How about the microphone you ask? The XBOX ONE Stereo headset uses a boom style microphone unlike the hidden microphone used on the PS4 PULSE Gold Headset, this results in far superior microphone sound quality for the XBOX ONE Stereo headset, and I dare
say its possibly one of the best gaming microphones I have ever used.

It plugs into the controller, so not true wireless.....IMO true wireless means no wires whatsoever.

There's no such thing as a Sony PULSE Gold headset. It's either the Gold headset (without the Pulse features), or the Pulse Elite (came out last year). If you really own both, which I doubt, you'd know.

I also own both and honestly, there's no way the Xbox One Stereo Headset has better audio quality. I know audio quality is subjective but there's a limit somewhere.

OP you are not the first person who have said the same things, there is a review on YouTube that says the same things the mic is poor on the Sony and the audio for some reason is not that good.

 

It was reported today that you can also use the new PS4 Gold Wireless headset with the XB1 with a chat adapter. I understand that out of the box the mic on the gold headset it poor. But apparently (not sure how true this is) if you connect it to the headset
app via your smartphone. There is a firmware update for the headset which improves the mic quality. Again am not sure how true that is I just read that on a few forums.
