Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Too Quiet

My friend complains that my mic is too quiet. I have to max out the mic volume on call of duty to make myself audible.

I've already Googled this problem and there's no fix. I used earbuds with mic on the adapter and I'm still barely audible, only enough to register on the screen.

But when I use the included XBO chat headset, the mic is loud enough.

I have tried the Xbox stereo headset microphone on my phone and it works fine. It is not the headset, but the adapter.

I've already updated the drivers/firmware for the controller and adapter. In the menu for Xbox accessories, it will not let me select the volume.

Stereo Headset Adapter firmware version: 4.8.0.0

    Controller firmware version: 2.3.2381.0

    :)

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Too Quiet

    Hiya!!

I have nothing but issues with headsets that require the adaptor to work. Years ago, I broke down and purchased my first set of Turtle Beach wireless headsets and I have never looked back. You might look into it. :)

    Happy Gaming!!

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Too Quiet

    Hi ,

Thanks for coming to the forums. It could possible be you have a bad adapter. As they all work fine without the adapter. Could you try another adapter to see if it does the same thing?

    Thanks,

    Brad
Yep it was a bad adapter. I plugged the Xbox stereo headset into a brand new Xbox controller (with 3.5mm input) and it works fine.

Have you checked the audio settings on your xbox, rather than the adapter?
