    Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Question.


    Hi, the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable that comes with the headset has stopped working. I can't hear anyone but others hear me. After wiggling the cable I I could sometimes hear people and determined that the cable has gone.

    Now instead of buying a whole new adapter for the sake of one cable, I bought a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter to replace the cable. Now I cam hear everyone but no one can hear me. No voice is transmitting. Is my adapter not compatible? Or have I got to buy a whole
    new official adapter for the sake of one cable that doesn't last longer than 6 months!!

    Ok, 1st question. Have you updated your controllers firmware with the headset plugged in?

    Update Xbox One Controller

    Another question, have you toggled the mute button to make sure you don't have yourself muted?

    If I understand your question...

    Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

    A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

    (The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)
