    Xbox One Stereo Headset adapter not working


    Hi all,

    I have a problem with my stereo headset adapter.

    It seems to be completely dead, but I can't find out why.

    The headphones I'm using are the official ones that came with the package and they work if I plug them straight into the controller without the adapter, or into any other audio source, so that should rule them out as being the culprit.

    I have tried plugging the adapter into the second controller, updating the controllers, turning off the power of the
    console for several hours, etc.

    I've read in some guides that you should be able to hit the mute button to tell if the adapter is working, but hitting mute does not light up the orange LED. I guess that this makes it plausible that there could be something wrong with the stereo
    jack.

    I have also tried using different headphones, but I still get the same result.

    Are there any tricks I'm missing to getting the adapter to start working?

    Please help before I go crazy from listening to my son playing Fortnite... Xbox One Stereo Headset adapter not working :D

    We have two of the
    Xbox Stereo Headset     with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
    adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.

    Since third-party products didn't work. I would highly advice that you get the Xbox One Headset Adapter instead. This will be a one time cost but should definitely work.
