  1. Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Issue

    Xbox One Accessories Forum,

I have been using the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter since March 2014 when it first came out with little to know issues up until yesterday.

I have a Turtle Beach headset that uses the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter and my recent experience is as follows:

    * Other game or party chat members hear my voice echo.

    * I faintly hear game or party chat members. The game and party chat members do not sound as
clear as they normally would have earlier yesterday.

    ---

The experience above sounds like both ends of the plugs are not secure according to the Xbox Support troubleshooting pages. I cannot make the plugs anymore secure than they are already. Won't push any further.

When I spin or twist the male end of the cord in the bottom of the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter I can actually get the echo to go away and the clear chat to come back but the second I make a move it goes back to the poor experience description above.

I have unplugged and replugged, powered off and power cycled all components to no end with no such luck on resolving the experience above.

    ---

    * Has anyone experienced this similar issue?

    * Does anyone have suggestions on a permanent fix/resolution?

    * Can I register my Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter and get it replaced by Xbox/Microsoft? If so, where can I find the serial number?

    * To my knowledge the product has not quite been out a year. Is there a manufacturer's warranty? Is this a manufacturing defect?

    * The device has not been misused outside of it's normal purpose. Normal wear and tear.

    ---

Looking for any insight regarding the issue I'm experiencing.

Look forward to a response. Thanks for the support.

    DangL

    :)

  4. Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Issue

UPDATE: It would actually appear that the experience doesn't yield my voice echoing but it causes echoing for the other game or party chat members. The game or party chat members also hear clicking and distorted/static sounds.

However, I cannot hear the echoing only the people in party and game chat hear themselves, only the clicking/static sounds.

    * Is this what others are experiencing?

I have tested with both a USB cable (not the play and charge), a 10 foot USB cable from BestBuy and double A batteries. The test also yields the same experience.

I've read that others are having issues with the same static, clicking sounds I am hearing with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapters.

Interested in some feedback on fixing or resolving. Can I get a replacement Stereo Headset Adapter?

    Regards,

    DangL

  6. I'm also experiencing a similar issue. where party members can hear themselves echo when my audio is on, however as soon as I mute my microphone the echo disappears for them.

The only issue on my end is the audio from the headset seems quiet even on the loudest setting.

I'm using the Tritton 720+ and it seems to be an issue with the converter for the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable as using the Tritton MP3 mobile adapter (

    store.madcatz.com/.../MP3-Mobile-Phone-and-Competition-Gaming-Adapter-for-AX-180-and-AX-720.html
) to get game and chat directly through the headset works fine but does mean I sacrifice optical audio.

This is frustrating and appears to be an issue with the adapter but I honestly don't know and would like some info regarding a fix or something similar.

Sounds identical to the issue I have been experiencing. What I hear: Quiet game and party chat members, with some annoying distorted static < that happens when I twist the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable to try and get it to work correctly.

What game and party chat members hear: As we know, they're own voice echoing along with the distorted static sounds of twisting the adapter's cable.

I actually purchased a new cable for the adapter (3rd party) and everything is working fine now. This means it's definitely the cable.

Have you or have you heard of anyone contacting Microsoft to get their stance on this issue with the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter cable?

    Thanks for replying!

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Issue

I have the same issue. I was also considering a 3rd party adapter for my adapter since it seems to be a short in my adapter cable, sometimes if I can pinch it near the end I can correct it but only while I'm willing to hold the cable perfectly still. Could
you possibly let me know what adapter you decided on getting, I'm afraid I will purchase the wrong one.

Xbox One S and Official Stereo Headset Adapter not recognized

    Hi Zathrus,

    We have two of the
    Xbox Stereo Headset
with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.

•Some third-party products come with a stereo headset adapter that may look different from the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter made by Microsoft, but they all function the same way.

•You can only connect an Xbox 360 Chat Headset using the stereo headset adapter with a 2.5-mm to 3.5-mm converter, which comes with the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter. The Xbox One Stereo Headset does not include this adapter cable.
