Xbox One stereo headset adapter issue

    Hello,

I just tried using my xbox one stereo headset adapter and im having problems with the Game audio comming from both the 'adapter' and my headset

i have followed a guide to mute the game audio comming from the adapter itself by pressing the Chat balance untill i hear a beep.

Now i can control both game and voice volume by using my headsets Volume pad.

Now the big issue im having is whenever someone talks in game chat it automatically turns down the game volume to where i can barely hear anything going on in the game.

as soon as theyre done talking the game volume goes back up to normal.

any suggestions on how to fix this?

    :)

Looked through the steps and none of them address my issue.

i get sound , can join party chat etc..

my problem is whenever people talk the game volume goes all quiet and i can't hear anything going on in the game anymore..

The issue you're having is not an issue with the chat adapter, it's with the game design.

It's done like that to prioritise being able to hear people versus hearing the game audio. In the few games I used game chat, it annoyed me having it like that so I ended up muting everyone which stopped it occurring (obviously, as there was no longer any
    game chat).

If you're talking with friends, try using party chat instead.

Then why is this problem not happening for me when the chat adapter is not plugged in?

the game only goes quiet when people talk when i plug in my chat adapter and press the chat balance button till the 'beep'

if i dont do this i get a weird sound because the chat adapter also plays game audio from its own... so i have to disable that and then the problem starts happening.

Where's this guide to stop game audio from from the controller? It's really annoying not been able to hear my friends because turning up the chat also turns up the game sound that's been sent out from the controller, I just want the chat to be sent out from
the controller not the game sound too. Any help would be really appreciated.

im using the astro work around

If you are using an A50 or AX Pro type of headset, hold the chat button until you hear a beep, then turn the volume all the way up. Then use the inline controller your headset probably has to adjust the chat and game volume. You should have the same setup
now as you did with your 360/PS3. If you hear an echo of the game volume, your still outputing game audio from the chat adapter, which is slightly delayed compared to what's coming from your sound controller. Hold the chat button down until it beeps, now you
    should have only chat.

All the adapter still does now is send chat audio (which i think is all what it should do)

But whenever someone talks it makes the game volume quiet for me... maybe if ur using Astros this will work perfectly.

  10. Thanks man, I feel like a total Idiot now, I wasn't even using the chat adapter correctly, i thought i had to single press the chat symbol then use the volume control on the right, all i have to do is hold the chat button down until i hear a beep to let
me know it only chat been sent, now my headset works perfect, my headset is the Tritton ax720+ 7.1, just incase anyone wants to know they work with the xbox one,i can confirm they do, and there awesome! Thanks for the help!

Xbox One S and Official Stereo Headset Adapter not recognized

    Hi Zathrus,

    We have two of the
    Xbox Stereo Headset
with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.

    Xbox one App

•Some third-party products come with a stereo headset adapter that may look different from the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter made by Microsoft, but they all function the same way.

•You can only connect an Xbox 360 Chat Headset using the stereo headset adapter with a 2.5-mm to 3.5-mm converter, which comes with the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter. The Xbox One Stereo Headset does not include this adapter cable.
