Xbox one - Steel series Arctis 5 not working in fortnite

Hi, DaveSmith1449, sorry you are having this problem. There could be a couple reasons this is going on.

In your audio settings, which you can get to by pressing Home > Settings Tab > Audio Settings, it should say that all of your audio is being directed to your controller. If not, change the settings so that it is.

Another reason could be that your in-game chat is turned off. You can get there in the Fortnite settings themselves.

The last thing I can think of is that the software/drivers on your devices needs updating, so be sure to update your console, controller, etc.

sometimes on fortnte the audio gliches out and what you need to do is before you go on fortnite start an xbox party up then load in to fortnite then go to your friends list then click Y then scroll down to audio channel then go xbox party chat to game xbox
party chat to game and that usually fixes it

Because of the propriety Xbox has, if that company hasnt paid the licensing fee to use the same system, they won't work on your Xbox. A prime example is the steel series Arctis 1. It will work on any other console but the Xbox one, and eventually a new
headset was released marketed specifically for the Xbox, the Arctis 1 Xbox edition which is exactly the same but will work on Xbox

Consider switching to the updated wireless headset or the steel series Arctis 7x both are great options.

Steel series Arctis 1 varified working.. Also all other usb headsets if you have the dts:x app.. Its 20$ but gives full usb audio functionality.
