Xbox One Steaming with Gen 3 A50s

I am trying to stream via xbox using an Elgato HD60 pro, yeti microphone to record my voice, and am using the Gen. 3 A50s as a headset. Upon streaming I can hear the game and my voice just fine on my stream; however, i can not hear anyone from my party speaking
on the stream. After speaking to Astro support apparently the A50s do not support steaming how I want and recommended the A40 TR Headset and MixAmp Pro TR which provide me the capability. Before I go out and get the A40s, My question to the xbox community
is: does any one know if xbox has a solution to my issue with the A50s?

Astro A50?

I have the a50 gen 2's and i like them a lot, but i am not aware of the issues you are talking about. I would go a50 gen 3 though.

 

I can say that I have streamed and successfully used the A50's and included party chat. Can you let us know what your audio settings are on your console? How are you connecting to the Elgato device? I was connecting to the device via HDMI, using optical
audio to connect to the headset. Also what software are you using to capture with the Elgato?

 

PalmettoBling may have the key to your issue. Check your console settings, you may need to use the Display & sound - Audio output - Headset audio - Using HDMI or optical audio headset checked and/or set your console party chat setting set to both headset
and TV so that it can be recorded/streamed by the Elgato external capture card.

Thank you for the replies. I am using HDMI from the xbox to the Elgato and HDMI from the Elgato to my gaming monitor. Using opt. audio from xbox to ASTRO base station. I am not currently at home to check the audio setting but will be in the next few hours
and can reply back with that information. I'm am using steamlabs instead of the Elgato and am streaming to facebook.

I'll get back with the console settings soon.

I have speaker audio as: HDMI audio - stereo uncompressed; Optical audio - Bitstream out; and Bitstream format - Dolby Digitial. My headset audio is: Headset format - stereo uncompressed.

 

Check your Settings - Display & sound - Volume section. Look at Party chat output and make sure it is either set to Speakers or Headset & Speakers. If it is set to Headset only then that's probably why your Elgato isn't getting your party chat audio.

Hi There, one thing i would suggest here - if your issue is just the party chat - would be to connect your A50 base station via USB to your PC, and use the XBOX App for Windows for party chat. This way it is very easy to capture your party chat in OBS which
i presume you are using? You still get your XBOX game audio in to your headset through the Optical input.

The A40 TRs i currently have, and the stream output is via 3.5mm which you connect to the analogue input on the HD 60, but that can introduce ground loop noise so i would not recommend that.

Does the Astro A50 have a Stream Out Port?

I have the Astro A40 with Mix Amp Pro and I use the Stream Out port connected to the Microphone port to the PC.

If you do you just need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. You would also need to change the Stream Out Port setting in Astro Command center to party chat only.

Then I have 3 Audio Channels with 3 audio sliders

Capture Card (Game)

Microphone (Part Chat)

USB Yeti (Microphone)

 

No the A50's do not have a Stream Out Port like the A40 TR Mixamp.

However, if you connect the A50 base station via USB to your PC (Not XBOX) your PC will recognise it as 3 Audio Devices. 1 & 2 are outputs (what you hear) 3 is an input (what your PC hears effectively)

1) Astro Headphones Game (or something simliar) - which is your PC Game audio if PC gaming.

2) Astro Headphones Voice - which is would be your Party Chat

3) Astro Headphone Voice - which is your microphone.

If your XBOX is connected to the base station via Optical, whenever your XBOX is on, your XBOX game sound will be heard in your headphones on the Game mix.

Use the XBOX App on windows 10 to create and join parties - not via the XBOX.

You can then have 3 audio channels with sliders for;

Capture Card - Game

Audio output, Astro Headphone Voice - Party Chat

USB Yeti - Microphone

I have the Astro A40 TRs with the mixamp, and this is how i Stream. And this set up will work for the A50's also.

One benefit of this setup can be that you have access to two microphones. Your Yeti, and your headset mic. you can set it so that your Party hears you on your headset and your stream hears you on your Yeti. You can mute either on the fly if you wanted to
just chat to your viewers and not your Party.

Thank you for all the feedback. I was able to use the A50s and stream as questioned. Just as Frathos said, I set my audio output to headset and speakers. The sound on the stream from both party and game sound great; however, the sound in the headset on my
end doesn't sound all that great. It hard to explain but the party sounds like they are in a tunnel when they talk. That's the only downfall I found, so today I went a head and pickup the A40 TR withe the Mixamp.
