Xbox One static with external speakers

Hey,

So I have my Xbox One connected to a monitor via HDMI, and then an external speaker connected to the monitor via a 3.5mm cable (sound from the Xbox One to the monitor, then from the monitor to the external speakers).

I have had this same setup for about 10 years (originally with the Xbox 360) and never had this issue of static. I even have been using this setup on the Xbox One since it launched in 2013. Today, however, I am experiencing static and cannot figure out how
to solve it. I have tried hard resetting, unplugging everything from the console and then plugging it back in, checking all appropriate cables, etc.

I can currently get it to work with the 360, my PC, and even other devices like my phone, etc. So the speakers, monitor, 3.5mm cable and HDMI cable have been tested and are working on all of these other devices. Immediately when I boot up the Xbox one, the
audio comes in but with the static.

Help?!?

Hearing static on external speakers over top of game audio.

I got my external speakers plugged into my TV and I keep hearing random periods of static over the top of the game volume. Only happens on the Xbox One, they run fine with my Xbox 360 and runs just fine plugged into my laptop also. I've read that the Xbox
One controller can effect external audio speakers so i updated the controller and the static still happens. Only way i can make the static stop is by turning the TV off and back on but i wanted to know how to stop the static from happening in the first place.?
It gets so bad that i cant even use my Xbox One sometimes. Perfect comparison is like when a cable box makes static noise over the audio. Anybody please help.

Connecting Speakers to Xbox One

So I have a monitor that only has hdmi, vga and a power port, with no speakers. I would like to be able to use my Xbox One with this monitor but I want sound to come out of an external set of speakers. Is there any way I can directly connect an Xbox One
to a set of speakers, e.g. a Soundbar?

Thanks Miss Quinzel, also FYI its not through the headset the static noise comes through the tv sound and external speakers as well (both tried). It is intermittent on some games but most common on the games ive posted vids on.

This sounds incredibly odd. Are you using any kind of external speakers, or your TV's speakers? If external, how do you have the speakers connected to the receiver or TV?

To clarify:

You have a new laptop with built-in speakers

You have a set of external speakers which are plugged into the laptop

The audio won't play through the external speakers and is only being played through the laptop speakers

This problem is with the sound from the X Box One to the monitor speakers (HDMI), replaced monitor and same problem.. Tried external speakers plugged into the monitor and no difference.
