    Xbox one starts up but gives me a black screen


    I haven't used my xbox one in a number of months and today when I turned it on it booted with the xbox green screen and then black. Connections are good, I've tried rebooting it in low resolution and it still does nothing when I start it up. All I get is a black screen. Does anyone have a solution for this? Any help is much appreciated!

    Hi! My name is Pam. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

    So the first thing we need to do is check and see if you can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Try doing this for me:

    Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the SYNC button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console. Continue holding the SYNC and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the SYNC and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

    When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Please select reset then keep games and apps. It will let you set it up just like a new one. No worries, no games will be removed, just sign back in using the right account.

    During normal start up it will go to the green xbox screen with loading dots on the bottom then it will display a black screen. If the black screen is what your talking about give it a minute for the xbox logo to pop up. The console is loading the dashboard
    when you see that screen.
