Xbox One starts for a second and then shuts down.

We are experiencing the same issue though we only purchased xbox 2 days ago.. had issue powering up first day but finally did and then today wont power up at all light comes on for sec and then goes off. we are able to insert and remove disk but nothing
else. we have not got Kinect and its plugged directly into wall socket with power brick orange ??? is this just a dud and can we take it back to store and swap it for a working unit ?? very disappointing situation :-( any advise or help would be great TIA

 

All good contacted store head office and they instructed store to swap for a new replacement.

 

small update.

the same guy from the microsoft support department called again(which is kinda nice since he knows my situation). and as far as I can understand from him(he was kinda hard to understand sometimes and he has a slight stutter haha me being horrible at phonecalls
doesn't help) they have agreed to have my xbox one get a standard repair(not sure what that means? "standard"? is there like a premium repair haha). He said I would get shipping papers emailed to me to use for DHL I think. and they are doing it for free!
Got nothing yet but I will see.

the last bit of the phone call was abit confusing. didn't understand if he said that a english speaking colleague was going to call me or that he was going to contact them(to tell them that I agree with the repair)

I am seriously suprised. microsoft and definitely the support has regained my trust

 

Terrific news, Vegitto! A standard repair is our regular repair. Some regions have the option for an Advanced Exchange, so we make sure to clarify between the two.

Please feel free to keep me updated here still if you would like. I'd like to make sure you're resolved. However, I am happy to see we are definitely on the right track.

I'm having this issue too. I had it before everytime the system auto updates, then i would have to unplug everything for a couple minutes until i get a white light, then the system boots up alright. But for some reason after switching it off last night it
wouldn't come back on. I tried what i normally did, no luck, then left everything unplugged over night, still nothing this morning.

My power brick isn't flashing, what i get when i plug it back in is the white light for a second and turns orange, i am aware that if the brick itself is faulty it would give a constant flash, but not here. So i spoke/online chat with customer support and
they came to the conclusion it's the brick? i don't understand how..?

So i was told my xbox is still under warrantly, and was told to log onto
https://myservice.xbox.com with my email associated with my tags, and i am getting access denied after logging in? i did this from my home computer then my mobile internet and same message, (my mobile internet is from another provder) so is the website
blocked? it sucks because i've not long had Destiny and now i have to wait however long to sort this out to play?

Any one got another solution i could try? which doesn't invlove having to buy a new brick or waiting for a replacement? i already spent £40 on the game. Any help would be appreciated!

ok, i finally managed to get through the whole thing and managed to print a postage label. I assumed it would be free to ship to, but there doesn't say anything about it on the label or the forms i completed onine. Is it worth to send the console, or just
by a new brick on ebay for £10. im assuming posting to the Czech Republic to be more! this is kind of harsh microsoft, i buy the console, which is still under warrantly and i have to pay to get it replaced, i don't mind paying the gas to going and swap it,
but the place i bought it from told me to contact microsoft, as i bought it last december.

any advice?

 

Hey, kieron112! You aren't paying to get it replaced, but you're paying for the shipping if you do have to pay for anything.

To speak with someone about your repair, you will need to contact support again. It's unfortunate, but they are the only ones that can check out what is going on with your situation.

I didn't expect MS to send me a replacement console already haha. I thought I would of had to send mine in first and get it fixed(like the MS guy said on the phone) but this is even better.

I can't wait. maybe I should go buy forza horizon already so I got something now to play.

An update on my situation.... i also had to do a replacement service with them. Got a new one yesterday and works, fine, hopefully this one won't do the same thing after the warranty expires! :-s, they also sent me a 1month xbox live user code. it's something
i suppose.

 

pretty much final update.

I got my replacement xbox one in yesterday!

set it up and it's working fine. packed up the broken one back in the box and going to contact UPS for a pickup tonight.

I am so happy that I can play my X1 games. I thank you all for your help and I am glad that everything ended this way. especially you miss quinzel for contacting the right people for me.

Last question.

do I need to register the new xbox now?

PS: aand today I got a replacement powerbrick. I guess they thought since I have a US model I needed a brick too. Already bought one when I bought it but hey. you never know when it might give out. a nice extra.
