    Xbox One standard mic issue


    When I'm using the standard mic that comes with the console, I hear an echo of myself and my voice lags so my friends don't actually hear me until I hear the echo. I have a brand new controller and mic and it still does this. Also my nat is open and I have
    good internet.

    My xbox has a mind of its own !

    It can also be your mic if you use a wired one. I myself had a similar issue and I'm pretty sure that either my chat pad or my standard xbox mic was the problem.

    You mentioned "I know the mic works because ive used 3 different mics on my ipad"

    - That's most likely the issue right there.

    - The Apple headsets use and OMTP standard

    - Xbox and Android headsets use the CTIA standard

    If you use an OMTP headset, you’ll probably experience audio or chat issues. However, if your headset or earbuds use the OMTP standard, you can purchase an adapter to convert the device to CTIA.

    These adapters are available at many electronic retail stores.

    You need to use a compatible headset with the Xbox One controller. It's most likely not your controller.
