I want to buy a soundbar that will work with my xbox 360, xbox one, does anyone know which ones work or are best to go for? cheapest possible. thank you in advanced

I have the Sonos Playbar, not the cheapest but works well. Optical Out from TV to soundbar so everything plays through it.

As long as your TV has optical out and you choose a soundbar with optical in you should be good to go.

Hope someone can help you with advice on which model to go for. Might help others if you can tell us how much you can spend.

i would say up to £100, just want something cheap and cheerful that can do the job. and work well with both xbox 360 and xbox one.

I got the 150w sharp soundbar as it is very very thin and sits on the wall under the tv fine, also has hdmi only so your tv would have to support arc it has hdmi passthrough so you don't lose a port and the sub is non obtrusive that cost me £99.99 and the
sound quality from it is immense for what it is, also no remote for it as the tv is the main controller for it.

The hdmi in port on the Xbox One is for plugging in TV boxes, not for plugging in soundbars, as the signal goes in, not out. Your best bet is to use a optical spdif cable from the Xbox to your soundbar, if your soundbar supports optical spdif.

Can you plug the Xbox into the soundbar, then the soundbar into the tv? Assuming the soundbar allows that set up?

The power to the N1 Soundbar is in no way related to the power to the Xbox One console. If you want the Soundbar off when you turn your console off, you will just have to do this manually. If it automatically turns it back on, just unplug the Soundbar when
you're not using it.

Please plug a soundbar directly in the Xbox One with an Optical cable.

I have a Vizio soundbar connected to my TV. I ran the Audio Receiver Setup on the Xbox One and now the X1 powers on/off the soundbar along with my entire TV/DVR system.

As for volume control, if you've ran the Audio Receiver Setup then you can control the Soundbar via either voice commands or the Xbox One Smartglass App (the volume controls on Smartglass will no longer control the TV volume, however, as they'll become dedicated
to the soundbar--I presume the same may be me true for voice commands).
