Xbox one sound problems

Okay, so a few weeks ago I noticed my xbox's sound was funky when I tried to play Netflix. This also happens with any other video app. Basically, I can here most bass sounds but no dialogue or voices. Well, I realized when I plugged headphones into my controller
the volume works, AND when I set the Audio to play through both headphones AND the speakers the speakers work fine. However, now instead of my xbox just playing a movie like it should, it does that whole thing where it thinks I'm inactive, makes the screen
dark and shows me upcoming achievements and social stuff. Like instead of just letting me watch it thinks I'm inactive. Its not the HDMI cable, I changed it and it wouldn't be the hdmi because it works when I set audio though headset and speakers. I've also
tried hard resetting several times.

I know that was a but of a vomiting of questions, but if you have any idea what's going on I'd he thankful to read it. Thanks in advance!

sound-problems at xbox one

Hi,

i bought the xbox one and i still have an old LCD TV with cinch and SCART and DVI input. I bought a adapter for HDMI->DVI and video is working.

But the sound not. i bought a toslink - optical->cinch converter. i tried xbox one by optical cable to toslink converter and from there with cinch to TV. But its not working.

Do i have to change some settings?

Is there a possibility that i divert the sound of the games to the headphones? I found no setting. Or is it possible to connect a headphone directly to the xbox one?

I would be very happy, if somebody can help me or sending me a solution.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

If the above solution doesnt fixed it, you can also try a factory reset choosing keep all games and apps
and this will do only a refresh to the operative system. You can find all info here:

Just remember to choose keep all games and apps to not lose your games or apps that are installed.

Well, here's what I've got so far. I think there was something to the Sony Receiver the Xbox didn't like. I had a different receiver sitting in my basement...it's a long story....and decided to try that one out. It's an Onkyo, and it worked! I was able to
play with more of the settings on this receiver and for whatever reason...it works flawlessly now. I have no idea what was going on with the Sony...I had reset it hundreds of times and could never get it to work properly. But...it's fixed now..I guess. Thanks

Lesson learned: Don't use sony receivers on a microsoft product...funny my iPhone handles smart glass just fine though

Yeah it's pretty stupid proof

I'm getting signal to all the speakers...it's just the wrong signal. One time I got vocals to the sub...and most the time it's vocals to the two side front speakers.

I can't use it on this TV. It's an off brand LED 1080P, so it doesn't have all the features. I was only able to go "R/W" analog down to the receiver.

I did just take it upstairs though and try it on my surround sound upstairs, which is an HDMI surround system. And that didn't give me the desired results either....when I played madden on that system just now, I got all sorts of crowd noise and game noise
but no commentary with sound going through HDMI...just the opposite of when I went optical on my other surround sound system.
