    Xbox One: Sound plays through headphones, but not through T.V.


    My Xbox One has been problem free until last week, with no changes made during that time. I am unable to hear any sound coming from the t.v. itself when using the Xbox on HDMI input on the T.V. settings, but when I switch back to the regular t.v. (cable) input
    the sound is there. I am however able to hear sound through my Turtle Beaches when going back to HDMI input and while playing games etc..but again no sound comes through my t.v. speakers. I obviously would like to use the xbox without using my headphones all
    the time. I have tried different settings, hdmi cables, commands to un-mute and I may try an audio optic cable, but is there something else I may be missing. Thanks for your help I may just call xbox support as well.

    Xbox One S Controller 3.5mm Headphone Jack, No sound whatsoever

    So i recently bought an Xbox One S, and for the life of me, I can't get any sound to come out of the One S controller through the headphone jack. I've tried all the settings in audio, devices, the controller itself and the volume controls which show up in
    the settings tab when you plug a headset into the controllers headphone jack. I've heard that you can get chat and game sound through it, but I can't even hear myself through the mic monitoring slider or in an Xbox Live party. I bought a chat headset today
    and the Xbox picks up on the mic so that works (Also tried with my computer's headphone port and it works), but no sound is outputted through the headphone port, not even with just standard stereo headphones with no mic. Any suggestions?

    How to use headphones only for sound

    I want to be able to plug in my headphones into the audio jack on my Xbox one controller and hear sound through my headphones only, everytime i plug in my headphones into the controller the sound comes through the headphones themselves and the tv speakers,
    how do i change that? Thanks

    Go to Settings > Display & Sound

    Check that "Stereo Uncompressed" is selected for HDMI audio.

    Home Speaker System

    easiest route is to run the red/white phono wires from the back of the T.V into the home speaker system. Anything that is viewed through the t.v will then give out (output) sound to the home sound system. I did this through a normal hi-fi system, its

    Go to the console settings, and under the video and audio settings, you can enable the option to hear game sound through your headphones.

    On the same settings page, you can also choose to have either regular stereo sound coming through your headphones, or you can use "Windows Sonic" to get spatial 3D sound, similar to Dolby Atmos, or if you have purchased the full Dolby Atmos App, you can
    also enable Dolby Atmos for headphones, and get Atmos 3D sound through your headphones.

    After you've enabled game sound through your headphones, you can then choose the balance between game sound and chat sound with the sliders mentioned by the posts above.

    Come on, it's probably because of the adapter, it's quite common for them to give some kind of error.

    Let's check.

    Main button, go to the right on the system tab, and then enter the Audio option!

    See if the mic is activated

    And then put the 3 bars all in the middle, to test (if you have one in gray, blocked, let me know)

    Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

    Select System > Settings > System > Console Information

    Select Reset Console.

    Restore and keep my games and apps.
