xbox one sound issues no Dolby ProLogic

Long story short.... The Xbox One when in DTS or Dolby Mode is not up converting 2 channel audio to the correct DTS Neo:6 or Dolby ProLogic stream. so when watching sky all I get is stereo sound. To fix this I have to put it in "HDMI Audio->stereo
uncompressed" and then I get Dolby ProLogic when watching tv but if I want 5.1 sound in game Netflix or blu-rays I have to switch back to dolby mode in setting. And don't get me started on blu-ray not having DTS-HD Master
    Audio
    or Dolby TrueHD

when is this going to get fixed the xbox has been out over a year now

    :)

    Receiver output issue

I was in the new dashboard beta progam but have recently been having an issue with my receiver output. My receiver is connected to an Xbox 360 via optical cable but about a week ago the receiver has started switching from Dolby Digital to Prologic when I
change games on a random basis. That is, some games are in Dolby Digital and others are in Prologic. When displayed in Prologic, the receiver display is showing as optical input and all 5 speakers (and sub woofer) are displaying. Turning the receiver off then
back on doesn't fix the problem. I was just wondering if anyone else was having sound issues since the update. I am not blaming the update but just trying to narrow down the possible reasons it is occuring. Thanks.

Xbox One to old Dolby ProLogic Analog Receiver--No Surround Sound

I wonder if this means your TV is accepting Dolby Digital 5.1 and does the downmix itself, or if the Xbox 360 supplies it with Dolby Pro Logic II-encoded 2-channel PCM.

It would be interesting if more techheads with Xbox One's could check if there's matrix encoded surround or only "magic surround" from 2-channel PCM output. I don't have an Xbox One yet, so I can't help investigate.

I agree iDav1d. It is most annoying for me when using NOW TV for instance. You only get stereo. I end up unplugging the Apple TV from another room and use that instead which is a total pain. I didn't know about changing the setting to stereo uncompressed
though. I will give this a try as it's got to be easier than swapping devices from room to room.

I Dav1d, you have just saved me a ton of cash. Your right, changing the setting to stereo uncompressed does give out Dolby Pro Logic. I was thinking of buying another Apple TV, so thanks for the tip. You're right though, you shouldn't have to keep changing
audio settings. Other devices seem to manage to play the required audio format with no issues. I also agree about the lack of DTS HD Master Audio and Dolby True HD. Come on Microsoft, you're falling behind.

Xbox One to old Dolby ProLogic Analog Receiver--No Surround Sound

Disregard issue. It is fixed. For anyone having the same issue, here are the settings that gave me Surround Sound:

In Settings > Display & Sound > Digital Audio:

    HDMI Audio > Bitstream Out

    Optical Audio > Bitstream Out

    Bitstream Format > Dolby Digital

This is output to my HDMI TV then connected via analog RCA cables from the TV output to the input of my Receiver which is set to Dolby ProLogic. Hope this helps someone in the future.
