  1. Xbox One sound channel will drop

I have been reading and trying to find a solution to the audio channel dropping. It usually happens after i pause a game, and try to come back, just a hiss. Reboot returns the same hiss. The only thing that works is powering off, unplugging the brick
for a minute, powering back on. Is there a fix to the many reported problems and am sure multiple times more unreported suffering Xbox family members? It pains me to keep performing this circus trick to regain audio. Please save me.

    :)

XBox One 2 channel sound problem

    Hi,

I have a 5 channel audio system and when streaming from xbox's spotify (for example) i can't get correct 2 channel audio. There comes some sound from surround and center speaker. Only if i turn settings from xbox from 5.1 uncompressed to the 2 channel uncompressed
i can get true stereo sound. Other way is to use av-receiver settings to convert 5.1 audio to the stereo sound. There is also obvious drop of treble when xbox one 2 channel uncompressed is in use. Bitstrem setting from xbox converting audio to dts or dolby
digital (depending settings) and problem is the same: with a 2 channel source there is all 5 channel somehow active. Seems like xbox has a serious problem to get audio encoding on xbox work properly. Help, anyone?

    Outputting Stereo for Stereo Content

Below is a bug report / feature request for the Xbox One Software Team. Does anybody else concur with this suggestion?

Summary: Xbox One Doesn’t Send Stereo Sound

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Connect Xbox One to a 7.1 surround sound receiver via HDMI (such as Sony STR-DH520)
    2. Set audio output to Uncompressed 7.1 in Xbox One’s settings
    3. Launch any video app
    4. Play a video that only contains 2-channel, stereo audio (as opposed to, for instance, 5.1 audio).
    Expected Results:

The Xbox One sends stereo sound (2 channels) to the receiver. Because 2 channels are being input, the sound can be processed by the receiver using a processor such as Dolby Pro Logic IIx. This results in, among other things, the center channel speaker
    outputting sound.

    Actual Results:

The Xbox One sends uncompressed 7.1 sound (7.1 channels) to the receiver. The receiver plays all sound being sent through all speakers (in this case, only the left and right speakers will actually output sound).

Because 7.1 channels are being sent, the receiver CANNOT utilize a sound processor such as Dolby Pro Logic IIx. This results in, among other things, the center channel speaker NOT outputting sound.

Call of Duty: World at War Sound issue. Weird.

I've had some sound loss in the past, but it most likely isn't your xbox, it is your audio imput, some HDMI ports on some brands of lower qualitly made tv's , ie: Insignia, or Westinghouse, VIzio ect. don't have a high conducting metal, and the sound get
    dropped.

A quick fix is to change your channel to tv, and find a channel that will play sound, once you hear it on the tv, then change back to your gaming input.

    5.1 Surround Sound - HDMI

The DTS Surround works better than uncompressed for sure (thanks for the suggestion). At least it provides sound to my front left, front right, and center channels. The rear channels are still completely silent though. I find this hilarious because I can
plug my Xbox 360 into the back of the Xbox One, and the "Beta" surround sound works beautifully! All channels working properly as if they would if the Xbox 360 was working alone. But the Xbox One cannot process sound well enough to send it to all channels
    independently. What a wonderful upgrade.

I'm still going to consider this question not answered because I still do not have full 5.1 audio. I'm at 3.1 right now, which is better than nothing I suppose.

    Low cut-scene dialog volume.

I figured it out! Audio settings for the Xbox and the TV/stereo/whatever you're getting sound through, need to be the same. If one is set on center channel, but you don't have a center channel speaker, it will sound muffled with low volume. If there is
no center speaker, they both need to be on Stereo instead of 5.1 or 7.1 surround.

Need Code For Comcast Xfinity X1 Platform

Mosi76 - have you gone to TV & OneGuide settings -> Device control -> cable/sat box and changed channel change speed to recommended or slow?

It sounds like we are dropping digits as the signals are sent too quickly.

    Video and Audio Delay HELP!

I also have issues running a Sky HD box through the Xbox One. 5.1 to Xbox via HDMI and then on to telly for picture. The surround is fed from Xbox to surround sound via optical out.

It varies from channel to channel, but its getting frustrating now!
