Xbox One Sound bar setup

The release notes for the march update says the following:

"Easy sound bar setup. Your audio sound bar set up just got a lot easier. You no longer need to type in the model number for most sound bars or AVRs when setting up TV on Xbox One."

I wonder if this will fix our problems.

I'm also messing around with enhancing the console's audio output quality. console... TOSlink... DAC/amp... headphones. I agree with HammerfellChick. Go to the manufacturer's website. Good luck, eh.

I have a couple of suggestions. First I'll post the Xbox support walkthrough for connecting the One to your home theater, there is a specific section for connecting it to a sound bar:

support.xbox.com/.../connect-console-to-home-theater

I would also suggest contacting Vizio directly, I bet they get that question a lot and they probably have suggestions to help with the issue you're experiencing.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep those in mind. In the meantime, I'll continue to investigate as to why the Sound Bar doesn't work well with Digital Stereo signals. Also, I forget if I mentioned this, but I had a friend test this on his setup (Xbox
360 with same Sound Bar), and he ran into the same problem. So, it doesn't sound like the Sound Bar is faulty -- it could just be how the sound bar is manufactured.

I would try a couple setups here. If you're using HDMI to your TV, and then optical from your TV to your sound bar, I would do HDMI Stereo Uncompressed. If you don't care about your TV sound, then try using optical from the Xbox to the Sound Bar, turning
off HDMI audio, and then doing bit stream, and selecting one of the Dolby settings.
