Xbox One sound and mic monitoring problems

    Xbox One sound and mic monitoring problems


    I noticed a couple issues pop up recently with one of my Xbox One consoles.

    The first issue is that only part of the sound will play through the TV. Tried multiple HDMI cables and multiple ports on my TV. The ports work fine with all other devices I tried so that does not seem to be the issue. Tried a reset and some stuff but
    nothing is working. Anybody else have this issue and have an idea on this? Would hate to have to send it in.

    The second issue is with headsets. I will note that all sound will come through the headset when hooked up. And the mic works fine. But I get mic monitoring which I hate. ALL the headsets I have tried from one of my sons Turtle Beach all the way down
    to a basic $20 headset I picked up as a spare from Amazon. The setting in the menu has mic monitoring all the way down (what I figured was off). The issue is that no matter the setting on that, all the way down to all the way up, the monitoring is the same.
    I searched around and did not find this issue so I am thinking it is not common. So the same question as before. Anybody else have this issue and have an idea on a possible fix?

    Also the mic monitoring is playing sound so I don't know if its the actual xbox or controller

    Turtle Beach just came out with a completely wireless surround sound headset with mic monitoring for the Xbox One Stealth 500 X. Goes for $230.

    I was having similar issues the other day. The dashboard kept indicating that I did not have a mic or it was muted which was not the case. Make sure that you do not have any system/controller updates that need to be installed as that was part of my problem
    and after I updated, it fixed it. Also, you may want to try a hard reset that fixes this issue as well at least it did for me.

    Please Try resetting the console completely (All Settings > System > Console Info & Updates > Reset Console > Reset and keep my games and apps)

    Mic Monitoring

    Mic monitoring is the ability to hear yourself through the mic. Many people confuse this with noise canceling. Mic monitoring helps with people that cannot hear themselves while there is gameplay. This sometimes causes people to be extra loud and start
    yelling when they can't hear themselves from the mic. Noise canceling mics will normally have 2 mics, one on the inside for you talk through and the other on the outside to listen for background noise and to "cancel" that sound that comes from the second mic.
    The options will be in the sound section when you hit your menu, this option is not there if you do not have a headset plugged into your controller.
