Xbox One SmartGlass on Windows Phone FAQ

Q: How much does the Xbox OneSmartGlass app cost?

    A: It’s free!

Q: Why won’t it work on my Windows Phone device?

A: We built our application to run on a wide array of devices, but Xbox One Smartglass requires your device to be running at least Windows Phone 8. Earlier version of Windows Phone are not supported. SmartGlass supports devices with at least 512MB
    of RAM.

Q: Why can’t I connect to my console?

A: On Xbox One: Make sure "SmartGlass Connections" is turned on. To change this setting, navigate to Settings > Preferences > "SmartGlass Connections", and make the appropriate changes.

Q: I'm having trouble signing in to my Xbox Live account. How can I get help?

A: If you're having trouble logging into Xbox One SmartGlass, start by making sure you can successfully sign in to Xbox.com in a web browser. If you have trouble there too, try the instructions athttp://www.xbox.com/forgot. http://support.xbox.com can
    also help with common problems.

Q: Can I receive push notifications for messages?

A: Yes, the application currently supports notifications for incoming messages. To turn these on, open the menu on the left-hand side, select Settings and tick ‘Allow Notifications.’ Note that if you are using Xbox One Smartglass Beta, this setting
has been expanded and allows you to individually enable notifications for favourites coming online, favourites starting a Twitch broadcast and incoming messages.

Q: I need more help. What information do I need to provide so you can help resolve my issue?

A: Make a new thread in this forum and we would be happy to help. Let us know the model of your phone, as well as its current OS version and the region in which you are currently located. You can confirm the version of Windows Phone you are running
by going to Settings > About > More Information and looking at ‘Software’ and ‘OS Version.’

If you are in the Xbox One Update Preview program and using Xbox One Smartglass Beta and are experiencing problems with this version of the application, please head over to the Early Access forums and make a post there. The Beta app is currently
available for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Android devices.

Q: In what languages and countries is the Xbox SmartGlass app available?

A: The Xbox One Smartglass app is currently available only in markets where the Xbox One console has been officially launched.

For more information on SmartGlass, please visit our Xbox SmartGlass Companion Apps page.

Note that the Xbox One Smartglass is undergoing constant updates and the information above is liable to change, although we will do our best to keep it as updated as possible. If you are using the Xbox One Smartglass Beta as part of the Xbox One Update
Preview, these changes are coming more frequently and for all the latest release notes you should keep an eye on the Announcements at the top of the Smartglass section of the Early Access Forums.

    :)

Can't sign in to Mixer or Smartglass apps

Xbox 360 SmartGlass app retirement. On May 18, 2018, the Xbox 360 SmartGlass apps
for iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 8, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 8, and Windows 10 will be retired. Support for the app and content are no longer being
    offered
It's for the Xbox One Smartglass app, not 360. Also as I said, I have the issue with the Mixer app as well.

Smartglass will not connect on any of my Windows 8.1 devices

Hello @baelfyre. I'm sorry you are having trouble connecting Xbox One SmartGlass to your Xbox One. It sounds like you installed the new Xbox One SmartGlass app instead of the Xbox 360 SmartGlass app so that is a good first step. Let's try tackling your
windows phone first. As I posted in another thread, sometimes cellular phones can be an extra challenge here since they may or may not be connected to your wifi network but still be connected to the Internet via cellular.

Just to be safe, please turn off your cellular data (going into Settings->cellular and turn off data). Verify you still have network connectivity by navigating to some new web site in your phone's browser. You should now be connected to the same wifi network
that your Xbox One console is connected to. Make sure that you kill the SmartGlass app on your phone (long back-press and hit the "X" on the SmartGlass app if in there). Now fire up XBox One SmartGlass, hit Connect, and see if your console shows up.

More information and trouble shooting can be found in the Xbox One SmartGlass FAQ here:

    forums.xbox.com/.../4216750.aspx

    Say it isn't so!

    Xbox One Smartglass

Doesn't mention size of app, but there is know way it is 8 GB. At least not for mobile devices, and, yes, Andoid and iOS are supported:

XW: How do you get Xbox One SmartGlass?

RP: The free Xbox One SmartGlass app is separate from the Xbox 360 app. The Xbox One SmartGlass app will be available for download this holiday on Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, iOS and Android devices.
