Xbox One Smartglass Crashing

I recently upgraded from an Ipod touch 4th generation to an Ipod touch 5th generation. The Xbox One Smartglass app worked with no problems on the old Ipod, but on the new one it crashes every single time I try to open it. It doesn't even give me a chance
to log in before the app minimizes like I am switching to another app. When I double tap the home button, the app still shows up like it is open, but I can't select it. Apple has confirmed that there is nothing wrong with my Ipod and that it must be the app
itself that is crashing. I have tried many times to fix this by deleting the app and re downloading it, but this doesn't change anything. Going into the diagnostics and usage data of my ipod I find these files with dates on them with Smartglass in the file
name. The first piece of understandable text I can see in this file is an "Incident Identifier" which is 627DC01A-31CC-46C4-B1CD-57ED4E311052 and a "Crash Reporter Key" which is bf49f3a42563cf9cc43301900e7667c351bb972

I don't know if it will help but my IOS is 7.1.2 (11D257)

Any help in figuring out why this app keeps crashing would be greatly appreciated. If there is any other information that is needed that I may be able to provide, please let me know.

Update for Windows and Windows Phone Xbox One SmartGlass Apps - fixes boot up issue

Xbox One smartglass app crashing upon trying to open Oneguide after update.

In case you missed it yesterday, there was an update to the iOS version for the xbox one smartglass. This update should fix the issue of oneguide crashing when you try to open it.

Sorry to hear about the crashing issue. What version of the SmartGlass app is downloaded to your iPod? You can check the version from your SmartGlass app by going to Settings and then scrolling to the bottom of the screen. The version number will be right
above the What's new section. Let's see what we can do to help get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

• Try deleting and reinstalling the SmartGlass app again by pressing on the SmartGlass app and pressing the X in the left hand corner.
  
• Select Delete and then from the App Store, search for SmartGlass.
• Select Xbox One SmartGlass and press the Cloud icon in the right corner to download the app.
  
• Once the SmartGlass app is downloaded, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for 10 seconds.
  
• As soon as your iPod powers on, try loading the SmartGlass app.

Give the suggested steps a try and let us know if you are still continuing to experience the SmartGlass app crashing.

 

I have already tried those suggestions multiple times. The version of Smartglass I am using is 2.9.0825 (2.9)

I'm experiencing the same issue on an iPad Air. I have tried the suggestions above, but SmartGlass is still crashing immediately after it opens.

iPad Air

iOS 7.1.2 (11D257)

SmartGlass 2.9.

Wifi connection

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
