Xbox One sluggish performance/lag , apps taking too long

So, I have tried everything from power cycling, reverting to factory settings, but my console still has sluggish performance when navigating through menus, and I also ran into the issue with apps always saying they took too long to start. Is there any other ways to fix these issues? I tried looking through other posts with issues like this, but they weren't of any help at all.

    :)

    Hello,

Step 1 couldn’t be done as it always gives an error saying it took too long to start, and can’t access my network settings. The rest of the steps I have done many times, and no progress. It seems to have gotten worse where the load times increased.

Hello @D_Gerkins! I hope that you are doing well!

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently facing performance issues on your Xbox one console. But don't worry, the following troubleshooting will fix the issue.

    Step 1: Clear Mac address:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

Step 2: Close any running games:

To remove download constraints from games or apps being installed, you can either wait for the Xbox to suspend the running game, or you can force games to close by doing the following:

    1. On the Home screen, navigate to your most recently run game.
    2. With the game highlighted, press the Menu button and select Quit.
    Step 3: Restart your console:

    1. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center.
    2. Select Restart console.
    3. Select Restart. This will automatically pause any existing downloads, which will resume once the console is restarted.
Step 4: Check your NAT type:

Another thing you should check is your NAT type. I would like you to check your NAT type if open because that could sometimes interfere. to check for the NAT type you can follow the steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > NAT type => It should be open.

If the NAT type is not open, you will need to open some ports with your internet provider. These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work: Port 88 (UDP) Port 3074 (UDP and TCP) Port 53 (UDP and TCP) Port 80 (TCP) Port 500 (UDP) Port 3544 (UDP) Port 4500 (UDP).

Step 5: Check your internet connection:

In case the issue still persists, please try connecting to a different network, or perhaps using a hotspot momentarily to just sync your worlds and then connecting to your home network once more.

Step 6: Check the link for further troubleshooting steps to fix the issue:

If the issue still persists, I highly advise you to check the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the link below:

I wish you a lovely day, and I hope this helps you out! All the best!

    Kind Regards

    Stay safe, and happy gaming!

Should my Xbox One be loading faster?

sadly, the system is sluggish popping in and out of menus. It takes way too long to send/receive invites, with too many button presses needed. Why are MS operating systems always so bloated... its just sickening. C'mon MS!

    Xbox One X sluggish performance

I may have misunderstood your intended point, but what you are implying is that my next gen console can not multitask. Some processes are meant to run simultaneously or concurrently. An example is taking a screenshot, recording a clip, broadcasting gameplay.
The only way to do any of that is while a game/program is running. What is the purpose of having a more powerful console if I can't even use messaging because I'm playing a game at the time? To answer your question though, whether something or multiple things
are running, has no definitive impact on the sluggish performance. It seems to exist from the moment the X1X is powered on.
