Xbox One Slow Performance and Sound Issues Please Help

Hi there guys, struggling with a few problems on my Xbox One, hoping you could help me to avoid using a hammer Xbox One Slow Performance and Sound Issues Please Help :)

My X1 struggles to cope with even the simplest of things, such as opening settings, games or going to 'my games and apps' what I mean by this is, it can take up to like 15 seconds for it to open, or it just wont open at all, no error codes, just... nothing.

My X1 also seems to be struggling to load things in-games, such as Destiny, once up and running, I will go on my character and it will take a good Minute (no exaggeration, honestly) to load up my consumables or my guns, which is bizzare and frustrating.

My other issue is SOUND, not while going through menus on the X1, strangely, its only during games, in particular, Destiny, Call of Duty & Witcher 3.

The sound issue is what is frustrating me the most because it does not make sense, for example, Destiny, I can be on Crucible cracking on killing people (or getting killed) and I can hear the music in the background, and of course, my gunfire, next minute,
music is mute, and all I can hear is gunfire, JUST gunfire, no boost sounds, no effects, nothing, not even my own steps, which is very off-putting and annoying. It is not always this way though, sometimes its the other way round, I can hear all the effects
and the music, but cannot hear my gunfire.....

Another thing I should note is, My Xbox One has not always been like this, up until about a week ago, I had pretty much no problems at all with it, and I was a very happy gamer! now, not happy at all because I just do not understand why it is as if its breaking
    down.

Things I have tried to fix the problems, none of which have worked even the slightest bit.

I have cleared the Cache, several times.

I have performed a Full Factory Condition reset.

    I have replaced my TV.

I have replaced my HDMI Cable.

I have adusted TV settings and Xbox One audio settings several different ways, but nothing seems to be working.

    I have reset my router

I have replaced my Ethernet cable (yes I am wired, did not think this would be the problem, but tried, did not work.)

Extra notes: My Nat type is Open and my Internet speed is average 87mbps. obviously fine there.

I would be EXTREMELY grateful if somebody knows how to sort this or has any other methods I can even just try!

    Thanks,

    Richard

    :)

Xbox One Slow Performance and Sound Issues Please Help

    Hi SilentMugger,

Sorry you're having so many issues with your Xbox. The sound issue as you stated is usually caused by surround sound to what I've seen. Have you tried the Stereo uncompressed option? I know you have said you've changed many things, but I didn't know
what exactly. Are you using a receiver? If so can you bypass that and go directly to your TV? Do you have a stereo headset for the Xbox? I'm curious to see if the problem with the sound exists there as well.

With the performance I honestly have no answers. It looks like you've done every step possible to resolve the performance issues. That said, what you're describing can also be related to internet. I know your speed is good, and I know you have an open
NAT, but with games like Destiny that could be the culprit. As to the Witcher I have no idea. Not sure if you have a friend or family member that you could test your console at their house, but it would definitely be worth a try.

If you do have a chance to go test this somewhere else, and all the symptoms replicate there, you'll likely need to do a repair on your console. You can do this at
https://myservice.xbox.com . Hopefully it won't come to that. Post back and let us know!

    Hi Hydro,

    Thanks for your response,

I don't use surround sound so that rules that one out, yes I have tried the stereo uncompressed option (originally on that in the first place and I have returned it back to that but still same issues, I am not using a receiver and I don't have/use a stereo
    headset for Xbox One.

I have family close by that I could test my console at, will do no harm in trying, its just so frustrating you know, but cool...

Thanks again at least for your input and response,

    Richard

Can you explain your setup. Is the sound(through hdmi) going directly in your tv from your console? Any sort of bypasses could be creating irregularities. I would try testing a game that has constant music where you can continuously fire off a gun(lets say
you play halo and hold down the trigger from the warthhog). Now gently move the hdmi cable WHILE its plugged into your console. its very possibly your consoles hdmi port is bad. Im a nut with audio and video so I have tons of things you could potentially try!
From your console, make sure its set to stereo uncompressed and optical audio is turned off. Lastly, It wouldnt be too far off to assume that your disc drive is dirty. Pick up one of those cleaning discs for blue ray drives(should only be around 10 bucks).
Audio and video distortion or dropout could potentially arise from a dirty laser. Anythings possible
