Xbox one slow game download speeds but good speeds when testing the connection

I am using a wired connection and when I did the speed tests, my download speed went up 50 Mbs but when I looked at the speed the game was actually downloading at, it was still mindbogglingly slow.

I still have the same problem. I spent 2 hours with Xbox support doing everything from internet tests, factory resets, port passthroughs on my router...everything.

Nothing worked. My speed tests show upwards of 300Mbps. Never had an issue until the recent SYSTEM update for the console itself which is when all the trouble started. Very frustrating as Xbox has basically said “we don’t know, to bad for you”. Well 500Kbps
to 1Mbps is unacceptable and extremely disheartening. HELP PLEASE.

Im getting the exact same problem. Except ive owned this console since launch. Never had this sort of download issue. Doing a speedtest on the xbox results in 45/16. When i try to download an update i get between 500Kb/1Mb a second (usually 30Mb/s at least).
Clearing the mac address did restore it to full speeds for 2 minutes then it started happening again. Any thoughts?

it is not really a good idea to compare a download test speed to the download speed of a piece of software or software update. A download test is a small chunk of data from pretty much a static server setup for that. Downloading updates or software is
going to be from a different location with potential demand on it servicing others as well. Comparing two downloads from EA may not be the same as they are not necessarily from the same place. Even downloading the same game may go to different places on
the net; all depends on demand and whats available.

I have Gigabit at home and can hit test speeds over 900MB/s; I never get that downloading software. About 95% of what affects your download speed is external to what you control. You can always contact your ISP if you are not getting what they advertise
as your connection speed with a test.

If you are getting your full ISP speed with the Speed Test then there likely isn't anything wrong with your console. Game download speeds vary according to time of day, internet and/or Microsoft server load. There is NO guaranteed continuous maximum game
download speed as this is dynamic based on the conditions I mentioned in prior sentence.
