Xbox One Slow Download speed

DL Speed 28.16Mbps (on a 75Mb package)

UP Speed 5.96Mbps (I'm on a 6Mb package so this is more than acceptable)

Latency 104ms

Wireless Strength 100%

Packet Loss 0%

MTU 1480

NAT Type Open

DNS Automatic

If I use speedtest.net on my Mac I'm getting 80Mbps+ DL every time.

Using Ookla on iOS 9, Iphone 5S I just received 89.93Mbps DL.

I don't recall ever seeing above 28Mb DL on the Xbox one.

All 3 devices (XB1, Mac, Iphone) are connected to an Apple Airport Extreme via wireless.

My Xbox 360 speeds are even worse (less than 5Mb UL/DL, but I guess I have to handle these one at a time.

I've done your standard reboot your modem/router many times over the past year. Doesn't help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

slow updates

A main factor in the speed along with slower internet speeds is the size of the update.

Can you provide your download and upload speed from your ISP? I do not understand ".026."

DSL Internet isn't the best so you shouldn't have high expectations. Though there is a new update currently in Preview that will speed up/prioritize download speeds.

I will assume you are using wireless. What is the percentage strength of your wireless signal?

 

To get the best download speed, your console should be plugged in to the router using Cat 6 Ethernet. it also depends on how old your airport is and the settings that you have setup for it also. It is known that some ISP's will limit Bandwith to certain
items that are connected since they can see everything that is connected through their equipment that you are renting.

With your Connection Speed to your XBO it is actually really good, since you want a decent upload compared to your Download. with that said, connect to using ethernet or you will have slower speeds.

 

I don't want to waste anyone else's time. I'm already in the process of moving stuff so I can hardwire to the router. I don't have faith that I will get what I want over wireless anyway. Thanks for the existing replies.

 

The wireless adapter built into the Xbox One is more than capable of getting 70+Mbps.

Personally I am in the UK on BT Infinity 2 76Mb Down and 20Mb up.

Wireless is more than capable of getting this but I agree with the other suggestions, you should be on wire for the best possible connection.

However, I also had the same issue, I contacted Xbox Support about it and they got me to do a Hard Reset and that worked fine and I could download at full 76Mbps.

Hard Reset is done by:

1. Turn off the Xbox Console

2. Unplug ALL cables from the console.

3. Wait 30 Seconds to 1 Minute.

4. Plug all cables back in and power on console

5. Go to Settings and test multiplayer connection, When it says that multiplayer connection test was successful press RT, LT, LB + RB all at the same and this will bring up your detailed results.

 

I would highly suggest that you run hard wired if possible as wireless has more issues then you want. Whatever you have running off of the wireless internet will directly affect your wireless speeds on your xbox one. Personally I have Fios and when hard
wired I get 125 for 75 but wireless its cut to less then half of that. Hard wired is the way to go

 

I have another question i could run a mulitiplayer and get 217 megs down for 2 yrs straight then in november it dropped over half and im wired and every thing in house has been replaced and upgraded and tested and xbox has no answer so let see what ideas
you guys can come up with seeing the owner of the machine a multi billion dollar company has no answer for

 

Oh ps my cell phone wireless is pulling a higher spped along with 6 other devices
