    Xbox One Skype App Kinect and Headset mics


    Kinect mic works and headset mic works. But when I use Skype with Kinect the other person cannot hear me. I have also tried using headset and same as with Kinect I can hear the person I've called but they cannot hear me. I have verified audio settings
    and chat party settings. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Video works great and I use voice command to start app but the person on the other line (skype) is unable to hear me. I have called multiple people; same result.

    Actually, that is not correct. Skype on Xbox One does indeed support using the Xbox headset for Skype calls. if the headset is plugged into the controller, audio input and output will be routed through the headset. there is no way to manually control
    if the headset vs. Kinect is used, however.

    Xbox One comes with Kinect it can be used as a mic. If you don't want to use Kinect as a mic then buy a headset. I have no problem using Kinect as a mic.

    I could see Skype working on Xbox, since they have the means to run an app such as it. Kinect and the Xbox Cam both run video chat, so it would be relatively easy to make an app that uses video and voice/mic compatibility to chat. However, Xbox already has
    video chat and Kinect chat for large regions of the world; I would think Microsoft would rather further that app instead of allowing a Skype app on Xbox.

    They base this thing off of PC's with the X86, core processors, and Skype, but you will not be able to communicate with a quality headset/mic until 2014? The most annoying thing on Xbox live now is when people use their Kinect for a mic. I'm supposed to
    spend $500 on a console off of their word that the new Kinect is better? And all Sony has to do is an update to make headsets work. I bet Microsoft just lost some money in preorders with this news from TB.
