Xbox One Sign in and Windows 10 Ideas?

Hello everyone,

There are two topics here, but I did not want to spam up the thread.

My first is signing in with Xbox Live. I currently do not have a TV so I use my laptop as my screen. However, I cannot see the screen because the new update requires you to sign in on your console before streaming; I can't see this though because I do not
have a TV. So any help around this would be great.

Also,

I am looking for some ideas about what to do regarding my current situation. I will give you the best explanation of my setup that I can so you are able to help me.

Here is a diagram of how I am currently using the wifi.

Router -----> Laptop----> Shares the connection from laptop to Ethernet -----> Xbox One

I have tried hooking up my Xbox directly to my router, but the connection was dropped about every five minutes, so it just was not worth it. This has been working the best because the ping is much faster.

The problem that I run into mostly is this: Whenever I have my laptop sharing the connection to my laptop, it is only sharing the amount of bandwidth that the computer itself needs (from my understanding). So if there is not a lot of images
changing on the screen, or I switch it to low quality, then the laptop will only receive about 3 mbps(estimate) because it does not need more than that. Therefore, my connection when trying to play online GREATLY suffers depending on the laptop bandwidth.

I have looked up ways to make the computer request more bandwidth than it needs, but I have not found anything. I would do this so that the computer creates a surplus of bandwidth to share and the xbox one could tap into that supply. I have also looked up
how to make one device have a priority of ping, but also have not found anything.

Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated, I just wanna play some games!

Things to keep in mind when answering:

-I currently live with three other people with only ONE router. So internet connection speeds can be very slow sometimes. Everyone is trying to do whatever they need to through this router. This can slow the ping down quite a bit for me.

-My connection in the apartment is a through the phone line, so more than one port can not be activated in the apartment. (ADSL2+)

-I have tried running ethernet all the way from the router, but it is really a hassle. I would have to connect it about 30 feet and hope no one trips over it. It is just pretty unreasonable.

-I do not currently have a TV so I am not able to set up the xbox to my wifi/router because I cannot see what I am doing. I only have my laptop and the xbox one to work with. This is because when you set up the xbox one to a wifi network, it makes you unplug
the ethernet cable which would make me lose streaming (my way of seeing).

-I have an HP Envy laptop with Windows 10.

-The router that we are using is a Linksys ea3500. This has 5G wifi on it, but 5g does not handle as well with walls and other routers.

Changing gamer tag

You can't change a gamertag into a previously owned one but you could sign in to the Windows 10 Xbox app with the old one though.
