Xbox one side menu will not open

For the past week, opening the side menu with the friends list, messages, and party chat will not open. When I hard reset, it only temporarily fixes the problem, but after a little longer it won't open. The screen goes dark for about 20 seconds, then says
a generic error has occurred. The error code is 0x80004005.

Blank menu, please help, urgent

Earlier today I was playing Minecraft Xbox one edition and my account kept signing out, I turned my xbox one off, thinking it would help. When I turned my xbox one on it loaded the green screen as usual but when it tried to sign my account in and go to the
home menu it went completely blank, my side menu still opens but I gotta press the menu button over and over, and trying to get to the home from the side menu just closed the side menu, I can't log in either. Please, some help me fix this.

Hi there. I would try resetting your console. Go to Settings, System, Console info & updates, Reset console to do this. I would try the Reset and keep my games & apps option first.

 

Will I still get my account and gamer tag back with all my friends and achievements and stats? I don't think it would be worth it if I lost my account.

 

Yes, your account information is all stored on Microsoft's servers, not your console, so everything will be safe

 

I did this and everything was working fine until about an hour after I did the reset, the same problem happened. Should I try the full reset option instead of the keep games option?

 

Now that I think about it, it's probably a problem with halo 5. I couldn't access the side menu or even go to the home screen while playing but halo 5 just crashed and all of a sudden it works again.

A full factory reset is a bit drastic at the current moment have you looked up the error code to see if there is any solutions there? And has your console experienced any other weird bugs that i need to know?

 

If you're still having problems and it seems like one game is causing it, try uninstalling and reinstalling Halo next. If you're having problems with more than one game, I would go ahead and try the full reset option, but you'll have to reinstall everything
after, unless you have an external hard drive.

 

I did a full factory reset and reinstalled halo 5 and I still have the same problem. So maybe it's not the game? And the error code gave me the solution for something else, not my problem. And nothing else weird is happening right now.
