Xbox one shutting down on its own

whenever I go into the Netflix app and start to watch a movie, I get about 1 minute in, and the Xbox just powers down. I've tried turning the power save options off, and doing a hard reset of the console, and deleteing the app. Nothing seems to be working.......
This is only a current problem that started happening today

also, the Xbox is running much slower now, and tends to freeze in the home menu

All I can think is maybe an outlet problem, signal overload and it shuts off... try a different outlet or surge protector

Although I'm only setting up my console and getting used to it. Did you check your 'Power and Start Up' option in the settings?

There are 3 settings...Turn XBOX off after

1. 1 hour of inactivity

2. 6 hours of inactivity

3. Do not turn off automatically.

Do you have it set up using kinect and voice commands?

If so maybe its getting muddled up in the voices if you and others are talking.

If you have it set up with Kinect and Voice, maybe disconnect it and try just the standard way.

Are you in the preview program, so that you get beta versions of the dashboard? There was an issue in one of the February updates that caused unwanted shutdowns, although I believe a new update was rolled out a day or so ago to fix that.

 

I'm having the same issue except it will shutoff regardless of what I'm doing. Games, youtube, netflix, anything. I'm a member of the preview program so I can only assume that has something to do with it. My console and power supply aren't hot or overheating,
I'm not getting any error codes or messages. It just randomly shuts down and turns itself on sometimes in rapid succession. Very strange behavior.

 

If you're in the preview program first make sure you've got the very latest update installed. If you have and the console still turns off, turn it back on and as soon as it boots up, hold down the button on the controller as if you were going to turn it
off and select the "Send feedback" option. That will create some logs, you can attach a comment, then they're sent to the developers. It would also help if you started a thread in the preview forum and say that you've sent off the logs, as MS devs/employees
post in there and you may get some feedback on the issue.

 

I am having this exact issue. It just started today. I do not know what the preview program is or whether I am a part of it. I am still learning about this console.
