Xbox One shuts off whenever I put in or take out a disc

Every time I put a disc in, no matter what it is, a game or movie, the system turns off. I have looked everywhere and the only solution I found was to turn it off and unplug it for a while, which didn't help. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Lost over 80 gbs on hard drive.

shut the xbox off take the hard drive out start it up. Then put it back in.

Can't launch xbox 360 games on xbox one

hi, whenever i put in a xbox 360 disc in my xbox one it doesn't seem to work, my xbox one disc work without any problems.

Hi Metalgerm,

See the link below to troubleshoot the Xbox turning off unexpectedly. Also one other thing to note is power. If your Xbox is plugged into a power strip, unplug it from this and plug it directly into the wall. Plugging it into the wall is best practice and
resolves a lot of power issues.

Thanks for the quick response. I am not at home, so I can't try any of those things out, but I did notice it started happening after the latest update, and only happens when I press the eject button or put a disc in, so it isn't really unexpectedly. thanks

No dice, tried everything in that link, but nothing. It turns off whenever I put a disc in, but it didn't turn off this time when I popped it out...

HI Metalgerm,

If your console is still turning off when doing that you likely need to have it serviced. I would recommend going to the link below and requesting a repair of your console. BTW nice gamer score

Thanks for the response. It looks like the system isn't turning off, it is restarting, I just never gave it enough time, but last night, I saw, screw it, and was going to bed, when it turned on again, and went to Far Cry, which is the disc I inserted before
it restarted.

I have been with Xbox Live since the beginning, and the original Xbox, so that is why my gamer score is so high. Plus, if you like mine, I have friends with higher, lol
