    Xbox One shuts off as soon as i start any game on it. Sitting in the menu for any number of hours (overnight) or using apps on it works just fine. Started doing this after i got updates this week. not specific to a game either. Have tried 3 and does it on
    all of them. As soon as the game intro video goes through, the box shuts off. Controller light keeps flashing. Cant turn on the box again through the controller either. have to power it on using the button on the console fascia.

    Have tried a factory reset, alternate power outlets, unplug and re-plug everything and nothing helped. Any ideas?

    When I turn the power on the xbox the white glob temporarily lights up and and turn off

    My Xbox One shuts off by itself. As soon as It starts up it turns off immediately.

    I just updated my xbox one controller cause i got the adapter but as soon as it starts updating it shuts off and gives me an error. Then i cycled the power and it updated without any headset or anything but now when i connect the adapter or the wired headset
    that comes with it, it just shuts off completely

    Hi Onyx,

    Sorry, should have mentioned that I'd tried the steps from the link you had provided. Had the problem even after that.

    I'd called up MS to talk about the issue further, but when the support rep asked me to power it up to troubleshoot, this time my xbox one console did not power up at all. The icon light came on for a second and went off. I was surprised as just hours back
    I had done the power cycling test you'd mentioned. Also, watched youtube and used IE on the console.

    The support rep asked me to disconnect the power brick and wait for a few min and then try. But still the same. Now the xbox console doesn't even power up. Don't know what to do. The rep has asked me to send it in for a repair or advance replacement. Guess
    there's nothing else I can do about it now.

    Looks like it. If you do a regular repair it could take a week or more to get back. The advance replacement has to be done over the phone and requires a credit card. They will send you a new console before you need to send yours back.

    Is resetting to Factory Settings an option at all for my problem? Or does it sound more like a RAM related issue with the console?
