    Xbox One/Series X Downloading Issue


    Hi guys I hope everyone is loving their new consoles!

    Basically on my Xbox One X for months whenever I download something it almost instantly stabilised on around 16mbps. This doesn't matter if it's a wired or wireless connection. Now we are on 540mbps internet and even if I disconnect every other device from
    the network this always happens. Now I've done the speed test on the Xbox and it usually says anywhere between 150 and 440 depending on time of day and how many people are on the network. Trying other devices on the same network (same place wireless, or cable)
    provides a speed with a minimum of 150.

    What makes this weirder is it only happens for my account. If i log in my daughters or my wife's, their speed is usually fantastic, and if I log my account into our other xbox, then that one receives terrible speeds.

    Today I received the new Xbox Series X and I was praying that this situation was sorted and for the first game I installed, it was. But as soon as it started downloading every game after that, it was back to that cursed ~16mbps speed. It feels like my account
    has been capped in some weird way.

    We've tried a new router, troubleshooting with the ISP but as it's not even just a device issue, they can't figure it out. I've tried all the usual restarts of routera/Xbox's and clearing MAC address. As it is now happening on the new Xbox I need to figure
    out why. Any advice would be helpful.

    On a slightly related question is there any router settings I should change for the new Xbox Series X like port forwarding or anything like that?

    Game can only be downloaded on a Series S and Series X, but not an Xbox One X. Xbox One X is not the same as a Series X.

    Xbox one isn't xbox one s or x compatible they are all compatible it's only the x that has some enhancements but generally the game will download on any xbox one

    Series x is just xbox series s or x

    Xbox Series X games / upgrades / updates has to be installed onto the Series X internal or expansion card SSD,

    You can have Xbox One games on your external hard drive that will get an Series X upgrade but the games will need to be transferred to the Series X and then the Series X upgrade will need to be downloaded onto the Series X SSD,

    As an example...

    I have Marvel Avengers on my external hard drive that will get the Series X upgrade and I will transfer the game over to the Series X SSD ready to download and update the game to the Series X version when available.

    series x has disc drive and the series s does not

    smart delivery is so it downloads the content for the specific console

    hence why the game case has series x and xbox one advertised on it. the disc can be used in series x and xbox one consoles, the series s does not have a drive therefore requires digital purchase.
