    XBOX ONE serial number change


    hello

    i have recently had my xbox one sent in to microsoft for repair.

    the console has been returned but has a diffrent serial number so i asume its a replacement.

    do i have to delet my orignal xbox s/n from my acount and add the new one.

    how will this affect my warrenty i still have nine months left.

    XBOX ONE serial number change

    Nk doesn't affect your warranty

    You do get a 90 days or the remainder of your warranty whichever longer

    You contact support to remove the number

    I did it myself via phone call

    And I evem had to travel to ms store in Mississauga to get the ms complete care warranty for 3years lol

    Should just change it automatically.Thats whats happened for me with the many consoles I've had to send of for repair over the years.

    Confirm original components

    The digital serial number will tell you if the motherboard has been changed as that cannot be easily swapped out.

    -

    Go to Settings -> System -> Console Settings -> System Info

    -

    This will display the serial number and console ID of the motherboard.

    -

    See if those match the stickers on the case and the one you have archived with the registration. The serial number and console ID are on the back of the case. The serial number is also printed on a sticker inside the front USB flap.

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with setting up a repair for your accessory.

    Keep in mind that all accessories [meaning anything that is not an Xbox One console or anything other than a regular controller] carry only a 90-day warranty, meaning that even if you could see the serial number of your device, if you attempted to set-up
    a repair for your device, you would be instead prompted to purchase a new accessory altogether.

    However, if your device is still in warranty, you can
    Contact Xbox Customer Support     to assist you with finding the serial number of your device.
