Xbox one sends back to home screen with one button

Xbox one is sending me back to home screen every time I press my A button. The only way to get into a game or anything is through kinect commands, but it gets to a point where you need to click A to do anything. So when I do, it kicks me back to the home
screen. Now this isn't just with games, it is with every single thing that I try to go into. Also a little menu pops up on the home screen with whatever I'm trying to access and the same options, Go full screen, Pin to Home, View game details, Manage game,
Quit, Settings, Help, and Switch profile. And of course, I can't click on any of them to do anything because it will just open up the same menu again not going where I want or need it to.

Two theories I have so far, 1 I have a faulty controller which would suck... 2 an automatic update *** my systems... and wild 3 kinect is messing with it?

I need help please.

Xbox ONE Report Card.

The web browser still sucks, it closes and goes to the home screen alot and the back button doesn't go back with one press.

 

Xbox one x controller

2 days old and the Xbox x console is broken.

Controller locks up and I can only press the Xbox home button, nothing else works. Up, down, left , right any button simply does not respond - just the xbox home button

To fix I have to power off the console and back on again

This only seems to happen in Xbox home screen, gameplay is fine.

Any suggestions - send back to Microsoft ?

 

Could you try power cycling your console (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console) and let us know if that helps with this issue?

 

I actually left the brick unplugged from the outlet all night and just got home. Everything worked fine until I pressed the Y button. Now the Y button is doing what the start button should do, and no the start button doesn't do what the Y button does. It's
just the Y button. I'm going to unplug the brick again and try in an hour or so.

 

Have you at any point spilt any liquid on the the controller?

 

like tghe above said i had this issue alot and it annoyed me but i would unply the console from the mains leave it for ten mins than reboot worked for me in the end
