Xbox one selections jump too many places.

So basically, when I am trying to select something, my xbox jumps 2 or more spaces . This happens in games, apps, and the home screen. I did a full reset of the console and used 2 different controllers, same issue.

Using Media Remote with Micosoft Edge on Xbox One

I am using the Xbox One Media Remote on Microsoft Edge. The problem is that the one click on the remote moves the pointer too far. It constantly jumps over what you are trying to select. It needs to move less distance for one click or basically less sensitive.

It makes using the media remote an extremely frustrating experience, virtually unusable and requires looking into.

Menu behaving erratic

When trying to navigate the menu on my XBox One it jumps all over the place. Am unable to select items, or the selector highlight jumps erratically between options.

How can I fix this?

Have checked multiple controllers, remote control, remote so from my iPhone, all with same issue.

 

Check your controller to see if any of the shoulder buttons (triggers and bumpers) are stuck. When pressed they cause scrolling actions to accelerate or skip multiple fields at once.

 

My old controller was sticky. But i got a new one and same issue .The new one is well new so its clean .

 

Hi, if you are using the triggers to navigate vertically (up and down) this is the correct function for triggers.

 

Nope .Just sticks and d pad .Sometimes the buttons act up too .I have done some research and it seems like it was that last controller update .So far ive found posts of this issue up to 3 years ago . I see that you are an ambassador, would you happen to know
if microsoft is at least looking into this issue ?I have also seen posts of this issue on pc usage as well.

 

Ambassadors are volunteers, who help fellow gamers. We are not employees. I am also in the Insider Program and haven't seen this issue posted about. Plenty on controller random disconnects.

How is your Xbox positioned, is it in a TV cabinet with glass doors and do you have it plugged into any form of surge protection device?

I take it that you have plugged the controller into the Xbox and checked in Kinect & Devises>Devises & Accessories to check that the firmware is up to date

 

It sits in the open. Controller is up to date. The posts ive found are from other sites, mostly from redit .Thank you for clarifying an ambassador's role .

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this peculiar issue.

From what I read on the subject, it would seem that if the info/steps here on our support site entitled

Troubleshoot your Xbox One wireless controller or factory resets have not really cleared the issue up, it might be something hardware wise that you might want to get checked out by creating a console repair order through our

device support page or through
customer support.

That is if you're not an Xbox Insider member. They volunteer to try out the latest updates to see if they work for the general public and their members can/should totally report any problems to the program themselves as outlined on

How to provide feedback as an Xbox insider so that they can work on that.

Thanks for the help Esteban .Ill look into the Xbox insider stuff .Unfortunately my xbox one is most likely out of warranty due to it being a 500gb model bought used. Thanks again for the help.

 

Youu would know if you were an Insider, as you have to sign up through Xbox Insider Hub app. Unless you bought a pre owned console, that the last owner didn't unregister from the program.
