Xbox One Seagate trouble

Having issues with my Seagate for my xbox one. I have had it since June 14th 2021 till today October 14th 2021 and it had worked fine until now. I had gone to sleep last night letting my wife watch Netflix on it and then woke up to watch with her, and after a bit decided to play something. First red flag was the games on my hard drive didn't show up so I checked settings and storage devices only to find it hadn't been listed. I then noticed that even though my Seagate was plugged in the light wasn't on. I turned off my system and unplugged it after it had fully powered down it had made the sound of being unplugged and i had felt it running before unplugging it. Now the big issue that maybe be the culprit is that it was warm. I believe my seagate has broke due to heat build up but I wanted to post here and see if anyone may have any insight to hopefully save me from buying another so close to Halloween. Is it fixable or am I going to have to cough up 100$ plus dollars and 2 days of downloading time for a new Seagate?

My laptop labels said seagate as Expansion and Driver error is its status I think its safe to say the device has broke.

Sounds like a hard drive failure. Best way to check is plug it into a PC/Laptop, and see if it gets recognized. Then download the app Seatools from the seagate website to run some basic tests. If the tests fail, then the hard drive has failed, and there is nothing you can do to fix it.

the picture i showed was an already formatted drive, but the option should of been there on the drive. Seagate does have their own trouble shooting that is similar to xbox's. It does have one more step of hooking it to a PC and running Seatools on it.

I run a seagate also, that drive is supposed to be an excellent drive. You might have to partition the drive to get it to work. Maybe Seatools will have a partition program with it? Most new drives are already partitioned. The formatting of the xbox one is
a proprietary one which is why you can't format outside of the xbox. Wish I could be more help. Good luck.

Are they USB 3.0 drives? What brand are they? Some people have stated that they have trouble with Seagate drives.
