Xbox One Screenshots / Screen Recordings Missing?

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me, but all my screenshots and screen recordings on my local drive on my Xbox One were deleted. All the data I have on Xbox Live is still there, but none of my local content. Has this happened to anyone else
here? And if so, found a way to retrieve that data? Does the Xbox delete content over time a certain period of time? Though that would be weird that my local content would expire but not on Xbox Live. I also store my captured content on an external hard
drive, not sure if that matters. This is very irritating, I wish Xbox Live would give us more space to store these things.

Same issue! I lost all the clips on my INTERNAL HDD, not on live.

Why would my clips that Ive had on my INTERNAL HDD be deleted or expire?

Where is the setting for this? Why did this just start?

Repeat, this is not about clips on xbox live, this is about the clips save LOCALLY!

If one of you xbox idiots reply with the known fact that clips on live expire Im jumping off a bridge.

Because game pics that haven’t had any views or engagement may be deleted at some point, you might want to back up your pics. You can do this from your console or your PC.

Upload captures from Xbox Live to OneDrive from your console

Press the Xbox button
to open the guide, then go to Broadcast & capture.
Select Recent captures > See All.
Select the list view button on the right to display your captures in a list.
Select the check box next to the captures you want to upload.
Select the Upload to OneDrive button to begin uploading.

Upload captures from Xbox Live to Google Drive from your PC

Open the Xbox app on your PC.
Sign in to the app using your Microsoft account.
Select the Captures icon on the left menu panel.
Select On Xbox Live to view captures you’ve uploaded to Xbox Live.
Select the Download button to download the captures locally to your PC. These will be stored in the Videos folder on your C drive.
Upload your local files to Google Drive or another storage location

Captures recorded to an external drive can’t be uploaded to Xbox Live from your console. To upload from an external drive to Xbox Live, follow these steps:

Plug a USB 3.0 (or faster) drive into your console.

Note The USB drive must be formatted as NTFS. You can’t use the same drive that games are installed on, which is formatted differently.
Press the Xbox button
to open the guide.
Go to System > Settings > System >
Storage.
Go to your external drive and select Set as capture location.
Your game clips and screenshots will be recorded to your external drive. To revert, set your internal drive as your capture location.

Is it possible that you made the Screenshots while offline?

It is strange that you don't have the most current screenshots. If we believe what is described in here ( https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/games-apps/my-games-apps/manage-clips-with-upload-studio )
the older screenshots are the ones that should be deleted, and not new ones.

I have an idea, I know it is not the best thing for the missing screenshots you have, but you should upload them to your OneDrive just in case (I do that when I have some time).

Hey there jmonk,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Forums. When you capture game clips on your Xbox One it starts to record automatically on screen. There would be no way to utilize a webcam to capture game clips.
