Xbox One Screen Tearing

I got screen tearing when playing Titanfall.

 

i see alot of metal tearing in titanfall...

 

This hasn't been a problem with me. I haven't noticed it on my tv

 

The issue is definitely there in Titanfall. That's game specific in that scenario however and is due to lack of v-sync.

^I'm thinking this... I didn't even know what it is until I looked it up, but I noticed it in TF before I even knew what it is. I've only seen it in TF. Anyone know if there's
a way to fix it with a game update, or are we stuck with it? Doesn't sound like turning off automatic HDMI settings will fix the problem if it's game specific.

 

With Titanfall is it patchable?

 

Yes it should be patchable. It's just the refresh rate being out of sync.

 

I've noticed a bit of tearing in Titanfall too, but I haven't noticed any in any of the other games I've got.

Vsync brings a performance hit of its own though, so I suppose it's a question of whether you want 30FPS with vsync or a fluctuating, higher FPS with some tearing. With a single player game, you could add that as an option (I think a couple of last gen games
did on console), but I'm not sure if that would work with a multiplayer game like Titanfall.

 

I never notice screen tearing.

 

Still waiting for someone to specify their Tv specs before I get into this topic but meh..

 

And you probably won't get anyone to post their tv specs because that would lead to actual troubleshooting and god forbid we do that here. Besides who wants to hear that their tv is the problem.

 

I'm gaming on a Dell U2713HM monitor. That's not the problem.

Titanfall uses adaptive vsync. There's no tearing when the game is running at 60FPS, but when the frame rate dips, which usually happens either right at the beginning of the game when everyone is jumping out of the drop ship, or when a bunch of titans are
firing all kinds of rockets and stuff at each other and the action is very hectic, you get tearing. That has nothing to do with the TV or monitor that you're using and there's no make/model of TV you could buy to make the tearing go away.

 

came here looking for an answer and nope. my unit suffers from screen tearing on any game and while watching tv. another unit off for repairs. day one edition.

 

I've never personally witnessed the screen-tearing. Whether it's still happening & I simply don't notice it is a different matter though. If it only occurs during the intro of a game or during incredibly hectic firefights, I don't think it should be considered
that big of an issue. The former is cinematic and the latter's usually hectic enough that you're not going to really know what's going on in the 1st place. I'll play some later tonight and actively look for any screen-tearing, but I don't think I will find
it.
