    Xbox One screen goes black for 2 secs sometimes


    Once in a while, lets say once per 3 days of gaming, the screen of my Xbox One goed black/blank for about 2 seconds and then returns. No further message or alerts displayed.

    It has been doing this since the day i bought it (years ago). Annoys me a bit but most times I'm fine, today ofcourse this happened while gaming competitive.

    Has anybody else had this before? I can't find anything about this on the internet because the only things I find are about the black screen of death.

    Note: it ONLY takes away the screen for 2 seconds, the xbox/game is still running perfectly!

    I'm not using an Xbox one S, neither a 4K television. Yes it HAS to be the Xbox, it does so on other televisions/HDMI cables, so it cant be those options.

    It's not a common failure, that's why i reached out to here.
    If it does it on other TV's with other cables it may very well be the HDMI port on the console itself.

    Mine has done this periodically and it was most definitely HDMI related.

    I recommend trying the troubleshooting solutions available in the following support article to see if they will help :
    Troubleshooting a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox One is on.

    If none of these solutions resolved the problem, your console may need to be serviced. To set up a a repair yourself, you will need to go to
    Device Supportto submit a repair request. You may also
    contact Xbox Support by requesting a call back or chat to have an Xbox Advocate do so for you.

    Give the troubleshooting a try and let us know the results.

    Have you changed your HDMI cable after you started getting this issue?

    I had the same issue and had my HDMI cable replaced, since then i have not gotten this issue again.
    I had the same issue and would agree that you need to check your HDMI cable. For me it was upgrading my TV to 4k along side my Xbox One S. I did not upgrade my cable and it was not rated for 4k resolution. It was a remedied by getting a 4k compliant cable.

    Are you sure it's the Xbox and not the HDMI cable, the television, or the input port on the television?
