  1. Xbox One "Scorpio"!?

So Microsoft pushed out a stripped down under-powered Xbox One so they could ship it with the Kinect. Now they are basically re-releasing the console they should have made in the first place (partly to meet specs for another add on peripheral) and expect
me to drop another couple hundred bucks or else get inferior games on my console I bought a year ago?! Nah I don't think so! Microsoft and Sony for that matter had better make with a trade in program or I'm just done with consoles for a long time. No more
    money for you Microsoft!

    :)

    I am really confused..

I will go on record stating Project Scorpio will have a M.S.R.P. of $699.98...give or take $699.98.

    Peace, J.R.

  4. Xbox One "Scorpio"!?

    A few things here:

    1. No way they could have done this 3 years ago and had a decent price for the console. Either they would have had to take sizable loses or sold the console at a much higher price.

    2. It seems that MS will be supporting both models. Games will work on either. So, there is no need to drop more money for a console. Unless you want some of the features it offers, like good VR support. And that was not coming to the older console
no matter and was not at launch.

    3. Sure, the games are inferior. Should see a game like Tom Clancy's: the Division compared to my PC (which is a few years old). Not even close. Same with both One/PS4. So really you can play the game you would have always gotten on this console.

    4. No need for a trade in. The games will all work. If not, then I can see an argument. But they will push both. There will be 2 tiers now. A more expensive model alongside this current model.

I will say that the best benefit of this is longevity. This will add legs to the current model since games will work with both. Much better than these consoles being replaced in 2 more years and getting little support. Seems like a win. Personally I
am waiting until e3 to see this slim. I am hoping it is ready and will launch soon. But if it is too far out I am just going to pick up another. Then when the upgrade launches I will get one and move the other to the living room. My sons have theirs but
with college and stuff out my wife does not currently have one to play. And we play together a lot so I need one.

I'm so mad about this new Xbox. I spent 500 dollars for day one edition, just so Microsoft can crap down my throat with a new improve xbox one in 2 years.

  7. I would get off the Bandwagon of bashing Microsoft. I bought a Xbox One Day One also. But, it will have been 4 years until Scorpio is released (if Dec 2017). So, other was released around Nov. 22, 2013. So, you will have had your system for 4 years and
got it for $500, right? You can not tell me that $125 year is a good deal for a lot of fun and enjoyable gaming?!?!?!? Again, I am not a Microsoft Shill, but I think that is a good deal. So, what if you have to upgrade your system? I upgrade my phone
very 2 or 3 years. And, I have to pay $650 or $700 for that. So, why not let Microsoft move ahead with newer technologies and support them. I am 100% for this move. Because I have "somewhat" left the Xbox One this generation and moved to PC, because the
graphics are so much better, faster loading (SSD right?), etc. Only adaptation is the keyboard / mouse, but you can just get Pinnacle and be fine. Wish you best and hope I didn't break your fiddle ...

Your comments about "stripped down". Maybe a little. Their mistake (I think) was the 32mb ESRAM along with using DDR3 versus DDR5. No wonder PS4 is killing them. However, I wouldn't fault them. Alot of decisions are made very far ahead of time, which
    you cannot fix last minute.

And, I think they WENT CHEAP and have paid for it this generation. Even me, a die-hard Xboxer have left "momentarily" to Alienware Alpha. I get games cheaper on Steam and get better graphics, and I can move my games easily with the Steam library. So,
I still support Microsoft on big titles, but the draw is not there like it was at the first of the gneeration after finding out about Steam.

So, Microsoft will have to step up their game in this generation part #2 to keep people loyal. They should really upgrade like TitanX level GPU, then everyone will be happy that they can play in 4k. If not, I'm thinking of PS4k.

And, I would think that many other people are also.

  9. Can i ask, and this is going off what Phil said in his post e3 interview, is the scorpio only for those with a 4K TV. I want to buy one in 18 months time but will only have a 1080 tv. So, will my games still look better on my 1080 e.g better draw distances,
frame rate, 1080, more effects and better lighting or is the Scorpio just a 4k TV scaling device?

  10. Yeah the X1 is a fail for sure but the scorpio is what we need only I'm afraid it will already be outdated by release? I don't care how much it costs. What I do care about is its power. I'd like to see the ability to choose frame rate and resolution and
GPU tweaks like PC's have to increase frames etc (like godrays, motion blur etc) The OS on a separate from games/apps SSD (a small one which is very inexpensive now) to have the fast speeds we all enjoy on our PC's for the last few years now and the ability
to upgrade the hard drive to a bigger size and for me always a SSD at any time the user wishes to do so. If the HDMI port only supports 60Hz then I'm for sure not buying in. It really needs a display port and current HDMI that allows maximum performance for
those of us with good monitors/TV's

Agree with you there "A Hef" ..MS better not skimp on the Scorpio. It made the XB1 such a disappointment. Some of friends even switched to the PS4 after they had the X360. As long as they put in the right amount as well as fast RAM - I believe things
will turn back their way. I mean, for the same games, I generally chose my PS4 due to better visuals.

Really look forward to Scorpio. Hopefully MS will fix their shortcomings.

i do agree, but what i think they should do is (like you said, and what they did with the Xbox 360 slim) if you bring in your Xbox One or Xbox One s you trade it in and pay the difference. P.S. i don't have an Xbox One yet but i'm getting an Xbox One slim
and i think i speak for a lot of people when i say that i don't want to buy a new console just to have it be obsolete in a year.

like 1.5 teraflops or the Scorpio having 4K gaming resolution (2160p) and the one is back in just HD (1080p to 1440P)... just saying

Also, I hope that MS will add Dolby Vision functionality in this new system.
