Xbox One Scorpio wishlist/opinions

Hi!, i looked and could not find a thread that people could collect their wishes/opinions for the new console, perhaps i missed them...

Anyway my wishes/opinions for Scorpio are....

1. Removable hard-drive kinda like xbox360 but instead of a closed plastic cartridge with the hard-drive in it, it should be open able by default. People who buy this console want the best performance and that means SSD. I can understand that you cant have
that default because of price, but be able to put on in would be awesome.

2. And to benefit from NR 1. we need at least Sata 3, and not Sata 2 like in the Original Xbox One. But an M2 port would be cool as well.

3. There are probably as many opinions on this as there are colors, but i am not a fan of Xbox One S white, i much preferred the black color of the original Xbox One. I think that black and green really are Xbox colors since the first original box. But i
guess the green do not really fit on the box today, but black.

4. I prefer it cooler and more silent than smaller. And also an external power supply... while internal can be convenient its much worse to replace it once it dies. An external you can just buy a new one and plug it in.

5. It seems like a waste to render something in 4k and then scale it down. Yes you get a tiny bit better picture quality over native 1080p, but with this much power it seems stupid to not make options like, Original Xbox & Xbox S, Xbox Scorpio 1080p@60fps,
Xbox Scorpio 4k@30fps (or 60fps if possible). I know its up to developers of the game to do this, but it should not be too hard to do.

I am sure there are more things, but these are all i can think of right now.

Now it would be interesting to hear your wishes and opinions on Scorpio. We know very little but still can come up with ideas that might be helpful that they have not thought of. Anyway its fun to just fantasize.

Xbox One Scorpio would be the best option in my opinion.

That's your opinion. It's my opinion it's stupid to say I'm not interested in a Scorpio because I don't want to hear pc talk.

 

Well as long as we're making idle wishes "4K TV included" is my wish.

Otherwise you don't really need one.

 

People are expecting too much from Scorpio it ISNT a next gen console it's still an Xbox one which will be optimized for a 4K tv

 

I wish that when Project Scorpio is out, those biased Sony fanboys over at Digital Foundry run side by side graphical comparisons with the Neo like they do now with the PS4 and Xbox One.

Sadly, I predict those videos will suddenly disappear as the results will not be to their liking.

 

No its not an next-gen console, because they are moving beyond generations, but if its 4,5x more powerful than original Xbox One, it might as well be.

If you look at the specs we know ATM, it would be waste to not use it, and simply render games at 4k and be done with it. And Phil already said that its up to the developer how they want to render things, they are not forcing 4k. He also clarified the interview
he said that if you dont have a 4k TV it wont do anything for you.

Games will look better on Scorpio, if it wont at launch it will in the future. Give it 1-3 years and i think they will even stop release some games to original Xbox One despite what they say now. Just look at when a new console is released they always promise
that the old console will continue to be supported with lots of games etc. It usually dont take much time before its the new console that counts. But maybe it really is beyond generations and this time will be different who knows.

 

Knowing Microsoft theyll probably stick with 5400rp or 7200rpm ancient super slow HDDs. They really need removable storage rather than external storage. Younger peeps including myself like colours. Manufacturers except Apple are OBSSESSED with making things
BLACK. A reason why Apple is so succesful is cuz they make things in a variety of colours to make it personal rather than boring black which business peeps may be use to. Apple also makes things slim too so it takes up less space. If still like to see a kinect
port on it. Kinect is unique to xbox. You can play games and sign in securely with it use it for redeeming QR codes for Xbox content voice chat video chat voice commands etc.

As for my SCORPIO wish list, I hope it cost at least $800.

Kinda funny but very true. However what I see DF doing in the future will be side by side comparisons not with Neo vs Scorpio but a $10k PC vs Scorpio and then saying, "the PC version wins hands down".

lol DF is so stupid.

Side note though, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes Scorpio is a 9th Generation Console. Corporate PR spin cannot dictate reality. MS, Sony or whoever can try all they want to say they are "not doing Generations" but the truth of reality is any new Console that
has significantly more power then the prior is a Next Gen Console.

 

- I'd also like an internal removable storage with optional SSD drives within a sane price range.

- They need to KEEP a sku with HDMI in and IR blaster. Those are things I could see them easily ditch to keep the price down.

- HDMI pass-through option without using their dreadful OS sound crap messing with the DD/DTS processing of blu-ray. Their current way of dealing with blu-ray sound processing is crap for some people that use an AV receiver with a more serious setup -- it
can cause crackling, sound drop-outs, etc...

- Don't care about the external power supply - I've never heard of one failing ever.

 

Nice OP, I'd like to still get a dedicated kinect port. Our family really enjoys (along with traditional gaming). It might be beneficial to VR opportunities as well.
